UCC28632: UCC28632 question about between VDD and GND operation when the output on the secondary side is shorted.

Dear support member,

My customer used UCC28632.

I have a question about between VDD and GND operation when the output on the secondary side is shorted.

(Situation)
When when the output on the secondary side is shorted,
Basically, I think that the rising voltage of VDD is repeated at VDD (start) level, but the VDD (start) level and rising to nearly 20 V are alternately repeated.

Waveform was not UVLO operation between VDD pins and GND pins.


(Question)
1. What kind of state (control) is this rise near 20 V?

2. Is this operation normal as the operation of the VDD pin when the secondary side output is shorted?

3. The maximum rating of the VDD voltage is 20V.
Is there a problem?
Is there a way to solve it?

hi,

i am making a design that using li-iron battery to instead of the Pb battery in vehicle at 24V voltage level.

can i using PCHG funtion for bidirection? which can be used for charge and discharger like the drawing below or is there another way to do it?(Q3 and Q4)

Another question is when i looking at the BQ76200 EVM-606 schematic, there are something i don't understand, why the C1 and C2 are connected there in series? i understand the cap are using for sunnber the over shout, but why two??

BQ24295: Asking for the recommendation BQ24295 datasheet question

Hi Team,

Customer is looking for BQ24295 datasheet as below picture, the text shows Vsys is 150mV above "minimum system voltage setting". But at the figure, it shows Vsys is 150mV above "Vbat".

 

Would you please comment which is correct?

Hi ,

We are using BQ40Z50-R3 fuel gauge IC in our battery pack, BQ24780 charger IC external to battery pack and a MCU as host to control the charger IC.

We would like to utilize the advanced charging algorithm feature of FG.
MCU will get charging data from FG and configure the charger IC accordingly.
Since am new to BMS, I would like to refer to example of the advanced charging algorithm implementation.
Can you please share one ?

Hi,

I have two questions about the TRM of BQ4050 in page 69.

1. Are these typos? I guess we are describing ManufacturerAccess()(0X00) in this paragraph.

2. In the example above, by writing, data sent=00 03 is not in Little Endian. But data read=00 01, is it correct?

In conclusion, my understanding is:

By using ManufacturerBlockAccess(), the command is 0x44, data sent and read are all in Little Endian,

By using ManufacturerAccess(), the command is 0x00, data sent are not in Little Endian, and data read are in Little Endian.

Is it correct?

I'm working on a power module card for a telecom system, it has module, each deliver 12V 75A to the system, as a high-available application, the 2 module make a 1+1 redundant schem, service can not be interruptted when 1 of 2 module being un-attached or inserted. 

whillist the 1/4 power brick on the module(V1) has build-in OCP/OVP/UVP and Droop-Load-Sharing functionality, but it dose need the transient current load to be very gentle when the twin-brother gets onboard; so, Can I use the LM20069 in the way depitcted in following fig?

Remeber, either side of the circuit can be source/load, depent on the order and powered/unpowered when it attched to back-plane.

Hi Team,

One of our customer is using UCD3138ARM device for the HSFB and downloading the firmwave program using USB Interface adapter programmer and programming through  UCD3XXX Device GUI tool (version 3.0.34) code compiler studio 5.2.6  

Once downloaded the firmware driver, then Scan the Device in program Mode: DEVICE_ID etc, it shows NO device found, its not in program mode,always in rom mode.

Can you please help to identify this issue.

LM27762: About protection diode and output capacitor capacity

Hi,

I am a FAE of a distributor dealing with TI products.
I received two questions from customers about the LM27762 device.
Could you answer the following questions?

1. In the charge pump circuit, when the input voltage is applied for a short time at startup, but the inverter is not yet operated,
The output capacitor may be charged positively by the load. In such a case, the output voltage may not rise normally, so add a Schottky diode in parallel with the output.
I am thinking of adding a diode to the OUT- of the LM27762.
But my customer's diode VF is 0.35V.
Although the maximum rating of OUT- is not described in particular, is 0.35V VF acceptable?

2. The recommended value for the output capacitor is 2.2uF.
However, the load side needs to use 10uF.
Is it possible to use 10 uF as the output capacitance of the LM27762?

In DPWM Resonant Mode, How to Limit maximum operating frequency and adjust the DPWM for 50% Duty?

How to Configure the register parameters?I refer to TI LLC HB code,to Configure the DPWM and Filter register。Now I can adjust the frequency by EPA0 input, But i can't Limit maximum operating frequency (Can Limit Minimum frequency ).And I don't konw how to adjust the duty for 50%.

Hi Expert,

My customer wants to calculate Hiccup time in second but its typical period is defined with "cycle" as follows.

=== quoted from datasheet ===
CURRENT-LIMIT
Hiccup wait time 512 Cycles
Hiccup time before restart 16384 Cycles

THERMAL SHUTDOWN
Thermal shutdown hiccup time 32768 Cycles
===

I think the cycle is generated the oscillator for switching and there is no other specific timer for each Hiccup time. But I couldn't find any equation to define switching frequency with Rrt resistor in datasheet.

Q1. How can the customer calculate R7 value, 140.6kHz to set 340kHz switching frequency as described in 8.2 Typical Application section in the datasheet?

Q2. If the customer set 340kHz switching frequncy, 1 cycle will be 2.94uS. So, in this example, each hiccup time will be as follows Is this correct understanding?
Hiccup wait time 512 Cycles = 512 * 2.94uS = 1505.28uS = 1.5mS
Hiccup time before restart 16384 Cycles = 16384 * 2.94uS = 48168.96uS = 48.2mS
Thermal shutdown hiccup time 32768 Cycles = 32768 * 2.94uS = 96337.92uS =96.3mS

Hello. I'm Yoshishige Tamura of IES corporation.

I have purchased the LMR14020SEVM and I'm trying to evaluate that for installing to our board.
but I have a few quesions for LMR14020SEVM.

The following questions are based on page 6 of the LMR 14020 SEVM User's Guide.

1. I'd like to omit the C10 and C11.
   Can the C10 and C11 be omitted? :I would like to omit the parts.

2. I would like to change the capacitor C8 0.027μF to a 0.022μF capacitor.
   :because we hard to get a 0.027μF capacitor.
   Does it work without any problems to change?


3.I don't see the point of the testpin TP7 is mounted. What is that for?
