Part Number: TPS53659

Dear Expert,

Could you please provide the detail description about compensation setting and workflow of "Fusion Digital Power Designer"?

The  introduction in "User's Guide SLUUBL0" is too simple.

In addition,

When start up, will the compensation parameters be automatically adjusted?

BQ27542-G1: Golden Image Generation Procedure Time

Part Number: BQ27542-G1

Greetings,

So to generate correct golden image I need to follow this procedure

- Generate a Chem ID

- Configure the Data Flash

- Perform the learning Cycle

- Generate the Golden Image

Considering that I'll need to do the charge-relax-discharge-relax to get the Chem ID and the Relax-discharge-Relax to perform the learning cycle,
The whole procedure could approximately take more than 10 hours.

So the question is can i go through the specified steps separately or does it need to be done in one take ?

Thanks,

Tarak

TPS61169: What is the minimum duty ratio of PWM signal which is input to CTRL?

$

Part Number: TPS61169

 Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using TPS61169 for their next products. They will use the device for a light source of CCD camera. So they want to use analog dimming mode (LED current control) not digital dimming mode (LED on/off duty control) to avoid flickering in camera image. I think TPS61169 has analog dimming mode which can be controlled by CTRL signal duty ratio.

The customer has a few questions about the analog dimming mode as the follows.

 Q1. Their conditions are Vin = 5V, Vout (LED VF) = 6V, ILED(max) = 300mA.

What is the minimum CTRL duty ratio which can control ILED correctly. Is it 10% (=30mA)? Or 1%(=3mA)? or more less?

Q2. Do you have any graph, ILED current (Y axis) vs CTRL signal duty ratio (X axis)?

Q3. Is ILED compleately zero when CTRL=0% (Low Level continuously)?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya.

UCC28742: Can flyback used in 200W output power, 400V DC Vin, 110V DC Vout?

Part Number: UCC28742

Dear team,

My customer want to design an isolated DC-DC scheme, which is used between a 1kW PFC output and an inverter.

As there are 3 channels signals for redundancy, they want to use a simplest DC-DC scheme, in order to reduce controller number for 3 channel.

Q1: Is there any reference isolated scheme for least controller number? Output power is 200W.

Q2: Can they use flyback for 200W output power or a multi-side flyback for 3*200W output? I didn't find a flyback reference design above 200W.

Thank you & Best regards

Yunjing

Part Number: LMR14006

kindly let us know the working capability of buck converter IC LMR16004 when ramp down and ramp up voltage is applied continuously to IC.

This ripple voltage will be controlled by  externally components. Ripple timing is based on the load consumption and AC input voltage.

Ramp up  voltage (25V to 35V) and ramp-down voltage (35V to 25V) is applied to buck input.

Hi Sir,

We plan use TPS92515-Q1 designd for Sequential Turn with BC846B.
There are frequency problem need your comfirm. In datasheet figure result description fixed input voltage, the device operates at the maximum frequency at 50% duty cycle and the frequency reduces as the duty cycle becomes shorter or longer.

Why we use equation(25), (26) calculate the frequency and draw graphical in excel result different datesheet figure 12?

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

We are students and we try to design isolated dc-dc converter for our PLC project. We use UCC28C43D driver. Our project was designed by WeBench Power Designer (link to design webench.ti.com/.../6). When we tried to start up DC-DC feedback didn't work. We analysed device behaviour and found one problem. Resistor R12 had very small value and internal power supply was overload. We changed R12 to 1 kOhm resistor and voltage feedback was ok. But DC-DC behaviour wasn't ok. DC-DC had discontinuous operation. What could be the reason?

WEBENCH® Tools/LM3150: Discrepenancy between WEBENCH and datasheet formula?

$

Part Number: LM3150

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

I am trying to create a design with the LM3150 that has Vin=24-28V and Vout=8V@3A.  WEBENCH will create a design for this just fine but when I try and validate it against the datasheet formula there seems to be som discrepancy. Specifically I use Equation 60 and 61 to calculate Ron using the selected switching frequency of fs=530e3

Rond=-(8-1)*(24*16.5+1000)-1000=-10777

Ron=(24*8-8)/(24*100e-12*530e3)-10777=134k

The value in the WEBENCH design is 127k, either way when looking at Figure 15, this does not seem to fit any of the curves shown there, even when interpolating the values. The nearest curve with Ron=115k, has Vout at about 11V for for an input of 24V.  Am I interpreting this figure correctly?

Also, the estimates for the minimum Cout and Cin are far greater the those given in the WEBENCH design.

I don't know whetjer to abandon this controller for this application or just believe the WEBENCH design, can someone help? Thanks.

Mike

TLC5943: Auto Display Repeat Function on Daisy Chained Drivers

Part Number: TLC5943

Our design uses two daisy-chained TLC5943 drivers.  We want to enable Auto Display Repeat Function as shown in page 20 of the data sheet (SBVS101 - December 2007).

The microcontroller shifts in Brightness control data 0xFF, so bit 7 is set to one for both drivers.

However, we see that only the first TLC5943 enables OUTn pins in the absence of blanking.

Is there an issue with Auto Display Repeat Function when multiple drivers are daisy-chained?

UCC2803: Start-up performance

Part Number: UCC2803

Hello,

I am using UCC2803 for a dual-output active-clamp flyback converter switching at 1MHz. The input range is 7 V to 28 V and the output is 24 V. I have questions regarding the startup performance.

Previously, the startup performance looked like this:

TI engineer suggested to check the loop stability as the waveforms within the red circle indicate a loop phase margin of less than 20 degree. I couldn't check it by applying a load transient (not fast enough to do that), so I lowered the bandwidth and repeated the test. The new waveforms look as following:

As you can see, over-current protection was not triggered during start-up. But I notice there is a glitch at the Vo. It appears every time. Could you please explain this phenomenon? Thanks.

BQ40Z50-R1: Recover from Over Current Discharge

$

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1

I am carrying out some testing on a 3S1P pack using a bq40Z50R1.

I am carrying out an over-current discharge test. Upon performing this discharging is inhibited, as expected, with the OCD1 flasg set within the "Safety Status A+B (low)".

Upon removing the load, I expected the pack to recover, but the OCD1 flag appears to be permanently set:

  • OCD Recovery Threshold = 200 mA
  • OCD Recovery Delay = 5 secs
  • ASCD Latch Limit = 0
  • ASCD Counter Dec Delay = 10s
  • ASCD Recovery = 5s
  • ASCD Reset  = 15s
  • ASCD Threshold 1 = 77 (hex)
  • ASCD Threshold 2 = E7 (hex)

Why is discharging inhibited (OCD1 flag remains set) even when the load (over discharge current) is removed?

BQ27Z561EVM-011: Voltage difference between BQ27Z561EVM-011 and Instruments.

Part Number: BQ27Z561EVM-011

Hi, everyone.

I find there is a difference between the voltage measured by BQ27Z561EVM-011 and the one measured by instruments.

Let me show a picture first:

In the picture above, the voltage shown in BqStudio which is measured by BQ27Z561EVM-011 is 3363mA.

The voltage measured by multimeter and electronic load is around 3010mA.

I have already calibrate BQ27Z561EVM-011 before using it.

I would like to ask the possible reason of this voltage difference.

Thank you,

Wenlong

Part Number: TPS1H100-Q1

Dear TI team:
My customer want to use TPS1H100-Q1 for a 5A continuous current output  application.

I find datasheet the "Linear output current range" max is 4A, and the remark is "Value is specified by design, not subject to production test"

The "Internal current limit" min is 7A.

So does TPS1H100-Q1 suitable for 5A output application? If not, what P/N recommend? Thanks!

Battery fuel gauge device type : which chip ?

Hi,

I'd like to find out which fuel gauge chip is mounted in a battery pack.
The device type I read in the chip is 0x4500. The hardware version is 0x0001.

The datasheets and user manuals I've read don't give the values one should read in the chip.
Is there a list of device types somewhere ?
