I want to use BQ77905 protection ic for 5 series cell I read the datasheet its rage is for OV 3 to 4.5V and for UV 1.2 to 3V Can I use it for the range (OV 3.65 AND UV 2.5V).

Please guide me


TPS2372: Ethernet packet loss issue

Hello,

When we use the TPS2372 POE to supply power, there will be packet loss when the network cable is 100 meters ping packet test.

When we switch to DC24V, it is normal.

TPS2491: Inquiry about formula(3)

My customer is considering TPS2491 and has a inquiry about formula(3) of datasheet P.12.

I would grateful if you could advise.

According to equation(3) of the datasheet,

Inquiry(1)

I cannot understand this formula

I think

Ts(max)/RθJC(max) < PLIM and Tj(max)/RθJC(max) > PLIM

transform the formula

Ts(max)/RθJC(max)<Tj(max)/RθJC(max)

PLIM : 0<(Tj(max)-Ts(max))/RθJC(max)

This is not correspond to formula(3), it seems to be typo.

Could you please let me know.

Inquiry(2)

TJ(max) is a junction temperature.

On the other hand, Ts(max) is a case temperature.

I think case temperature is not the same as junction temperature.

Could you please let me know why Ts(max) is used?

I found the integral period of CC is 250ms, but I could not find the sampling period discription in the datasheet and FAQs.

TPS92641: Constant current regulator for TEC (Peltier)drive in parallel

For TEC (Peltier) driver, I plan to use LED driver as constant current source. TPS92641 is good for constant current regulator.

To drive TEC(Peltier), it is needed for much current (~5A), so I would like to operate some LED drivers in parallel.

Is it possible?

Condition test is below .

1.Start up Over voltage protection test :

Condition test :Open feed back of TPS40322 then power on the unit   

Result :The TPS40322 is damage

 

2.Continous over voltage protection test :

Condition test :Power on the unit then open  feed back    of TPS40322

Result : The TPS40322 is not damage

LM5170EVM-BIDIR: TINA_TI Reference design problem

Hi,

I am trying to simulate LM5170 reference design provided. I am assuming the LM5170 TINA-TI Reference Design provided under the design tab is same as the typical application found in LM5170 datasheet. 

I am not able to understand why two extra MOSFETs are used as marked and an open voltage source.

I would like to simulate for one voltage source on one end and load (Resistor) at another end with an outer voltage loop control. The LM5170 TINA-TI Reference Design(.TSC) file seems incomplete or some other typical application design is provided.

TPS2491: external gate clamp diode when Vin=12V

My customer is considering TPS2491 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

According to the datasheet P.11 7.3.3 GATE, the device has an internal clamp diode which has 12V to 16V clamp.

I think of using FET, VGSmax is 20V and VDSmax is 40V.

In this case, if  Vin=12V input, does external diode need?

I think the data sheet description seems to depend on VGS, not Vin.

Even if Vin = 12V, I don't think an external clamp diode is necessary, is it correct?

According to the datasheet P.12 7.3.6 VREF,

The device does not require a bypass capacitor.

But special application can connect 1000pF or less.

Could you please let me know what kind of use case do you assume?

I'd like to use this device for energy harvesting. I understood that Vf of this device is 26mV(at 8A) from datasheet. Is it correct?

Q3;
Energy harvesting source is 100mVac. Can this device be used for rectification?

BQ40Z80: Current consumption in Sleep Mode

Hi all,

I need your help about current consumption with BQ40Z80 GG.

In BQ's Datasheet there it supply current for differents mode. Normal mode = 663 µA, Sleep mode = 96µA and Shutdown mode = 1.4µA

I have measured the supply current and I have 700µA in normal mode but in sleep mode I have 500 µA instead of 96 µA !!

Hi,

1. About input clamp TVS

 Regarding Q1 in "TPS2493: Question of input capacitor etc.", it's difficult to place input TVS in our system because it's difficult to place a fuse.

However, our system isn't happend Hot-plug frequentry by normal users(only service engineer may do). So I think it's low risk not to use input TVS.

If you have any other solution, please tell me.

2. About current detection value

Regarding Q2 in "TPS2493: Question of input capacitor etc.", I heard it's not recommended to insert resistor between DCIN-VCC pin.

But we need that solution to pass the short test(VCC-GND) because it's difficult to place a fuse in DCIN line.

Would you please tell me the way to calculate the current detection value with that solution?

If you have any other solution, please tell me.

UCD90120A: MONx pin voltage while turned off

Hi,

Is it safe to monitor a standby (always on) voltage rail, that is also present while the UCD90120A power supply is turned off?

Standby rail is 3.3V and would be conneted to a MONx pin with 1k-1k resistor divider.

I haven't found any mention of this in the datasheet.

My customer is doing a sensor for agricultural equipment and is using TLV71318PDBVR as a reference and CC1310.

Customer is looking for the same device as TLV71318PDBVR but with lower consumption up to 5uA. Right now TLV71318PDBVR is consuming 50uA.

I developed a 5S2P battery protection module using the reference design of BQ77915EVM. First I connected PACK - terminal to charger -ve terminal for charging purpose. But,  When we connecting PACK+ terminal to charger +ve terminal, the continues spack was coming. I can't identify the reason why it is coming. Please help me with this.
