Part Number: TPS7A05
Hello guys,
One of my customers is considering using TPS7A0520 (output voltage is 2.0V) with 5V input voltage.
TPS7A05xx datasheet (No.SBVS254D) says that 1uF capacitance is recommended for the input capacitance of TPS7A0520.
But my customer wants to use 0.1uF or 0.47uF for the input capacitance of TPS7A0520 because the cost of ceramic capacitor
larger than 0.47uF is increased sharply.
Their question is the follow.
Q. Can 0.1uF or 0.47uF be used for the input capacitance of TPS7A0520?
Is it depends on output load transient?
Your reply would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Kazuya.
Part Number: TPS40345
Good afternoon,
I made a power supply with TPS40345 using webench designer.
The features are:
Vin = 3,3V;
Vout = 0,85V;
Iout = 12A.
I assembled the firsts ten machine and two of these have the power supply that doesn't work.
I have regenerated (with the same features) the project with webench designer and I have noted that there is a difference between my old project and the current project: the overcurrent resistor is bigger in the new project.. Why?
So I have calculated this resistor using the formula in the datasheet (page 11), but I don't understand which values I must to use..
With: Iocset = 9,5uA, Voclos = -8mV, Ip-p = 3,8A, RDSon = 2,6mohm, Iout = 12A, the ROCSET calculated is 1803,15ohm, while the tool give me a Resistance of 4600ohm.. In order to reach this value I must to increment the output current?
The peak-to-peak current on inductance doesn't change?
How can I correctly calculating ROCSET based on my capacitive load?
Thanks in advance,
Diego.

Dear TI Team,
I want to design a LM5176 Power Sharing.
If I have a power sharing design, do I need to configure it like the circuit in the SNVA826 documentation?
Ask how RT / SYNC circuits should be designed.
Is it good to connect the Master / Slave RT / SYNC to the MCU and control it at the same time?
Or is it better to use RT / SYNC with resistors for individual control?
Thanks.
Part Number: BQ27441EVM-G1A
Hi:
i have some question with build the bq27441-G1A golden image file,
1. How to calibrate current ? i found Battery Management Studio don't have the current calibration item .
2. when i change the CC Gain value in DFI or use tool calibration item to calibrate the board offset(the board offset value will change from 0 to 5), then i use the tool to build the *.gm.fs file and re-load the file to a new bq27441-G1A device, i found the new device DFI will change become to my old setting but calibration data still is default
please teach me how to calibrate the current and let the golden file(*.gm.fs file) still will keep the calibration data.
thanks !

is it possible to achieve 84V 30 Amps output from the UCC29910AEVM-730 design
Part Number: TPS54331
Hi, my customer design a circuit according to webench simulation as below:
But the output will not be stable.
yellow- boot, purple- ph, green- Vout.
It looks like to be Vout is gradually growing, and then at Vout=4V, the duty cycle is 100%, and then (BOOT-PH) voltage decrease, then high side FET turns off and Vout decrease.
Do we have any way to keep it stable with 4.8V to 4V converter?
If TPS54331 can't meet the requirement, do we have any other devices can meet the requirement? The input voltage range should be larger than 24V.

Dear TI Team,
This is an extension of the question linked below.
In Open Load, Open Load Protection does not seem to work as shown below.
I'm still having trouble, and I want to check if there is a problem with my circuit implementation.
There is no problem with Load.
However, I want to check whether the protection function does not work properly when there is no load.
Please review.
Thanks.
Part Number: BQ77915
Hello,
I want to make a battery that embeds to system. So I can't remove it from load. When BQ77915 enters the proctection, ic requires remove the load. So i want to disable Load Removal function. Can we do it to BQ7915?
BQ77915 is balancing at 3.8V in charging, ic starts balancing until one cell goes to OV protection. IC stops charging and keep balancing. My question is when the cell goes to safe voltage level, is IC starting to charge again? Or IC enters the Load removal mode?
Best regards.
Part Number: TPS40210
Hi
Our customer are going to consider the configuration of the negative output from the negative input. (Vin=-15V,Vo=-6.8V, Io=1.5A)
So, we found some reference design at TI site. At the one of design,we see the negative input-output configuration with TPS40210 such as PMP9624.
http://www.ti.com/jp/lit/df/tidrf59/tidrf59.pdf
I have some question regrading this configuration.
1. At this configuration, is TP3 is GND and TP4 is -3.3V ?
2. I understand FB voltage need to invert but how can we calculate the FB resister which is R102 and R2 and R7?
(Also EN signal need to invert.)
3.How can we calculate the inductor value and Switch current?
Could you give us if there is any other good references to help?

Part Number: LMZM23601
Hi,
We had designed a circuit in WEBENCH tool to generate -5V output using input voltage of +5.2V. Same circuit has been incorporated in our design too.
Below circuit for reference.
But we have procured the component with part number LMZM23601V5SILR which is fixed output version of +5V.
Can we use the same part in our design to achieve -5V (by connecting FB pin to VOUT) ???

Mohith
Part Number: TPS737
Hi,
Please clarify my following questions in TPS737.
1. In datasheet page 7, the output accuracy is supposed to be in percentage but instead the unit is given in volt.
2. In the ordering part number TPS73701DRBRG4, what is the significance of "G4"? I don't see any difference between this part and TPS73701DRBR.
Hello
Do we have suitable solution to meet below specification? Thank you.
2A charging current, Vout min. voltage is 3.5V
Vin : 5 ~ 9V (micro USB or USB-C)
Vout : min. voltage is 3.5V

Part Number: BQ34Z110
Dear colleague,
Now our customer is selecting Gauge for their battery pack.
Their battery pack is 6S or 10S, and the voltage range of the single battery is 1.5V-3V, and the platform voltage of the battery is 2.4V.
But their battery material is confidential.
So
1. Now they are choosing BQ34Z110, this selection is right?
2. Is there a better alternative?
3. Customer also is choosing Monitor ( such as Bq77910A) for a battery pack, I think Gauge selection is not related with Monitor. This is right?

Bq4050evm-561
After we replaced the load resistors to 5 ohm (~2A LOAD), we calibrated the current , voltage and temperature.
After programming the bq4050evm-561 with your srec file we get the next state:
Pack voltage is 10 Volt, charging with pre-charge fets.
We used the default data memory file.
at charging configuration with 300 ohm resistors for each battery cell( without battery) we get the next state:
Fets remain not conductiong even though GUI shows XDSG & XCHG are set so 0.
if we disable the "fet_en" , the same happens : XCHG fet is not conducting in contradiction to it's flag
We used the default data memory file.
In our setup we used EV2400 HPA500 and EV2300 . both devices results the same.
If we look at the read registers at the GUI we see the next important beahvior
in addition , i attach some measurements which maybe help you to find the solution :
Charge fet gate voltage –switching period 1 sec
zoom at the charge gate voltage
DisCharge fet gate voltage –switching period 1 sec
Zoom at the discharge fet voltage
It looks like the gas gauge tries to switch the fets to on stats but something prevents it or doing so.
The fuse pin switches at 166mHz with 50% duty cycle
Then we connected the setup in Discharge configuration
Fets are still not conducting although GUI shows XCHG and XDSG are '0'
Charge fet voltage
DISCharge fet voltage
Fuse pin is constant 1.1 volts
i hope you will be able to find a solution .
Best,
victor

Hi,
Is it possible to get an un-encrypted model of LM5041? I searched through other similar threads and they refer to an NDA, but I was not able to find the exact procedure.

Hi Sir/Mam,
I need to design a SIM800C GPRS based temperature sensor, where the device will send the temperature value to the server. I am think to use the SMPS which will do the 230VAC to 12VDC or 5VDC 2A conversion. I need to know the battery recharging IC which i can use to power the SIM800C module. I am quite new in the battery recharging field, i did some search for the IC's but was lost on seeing so many IC options. It will be great if somebody can suggest me the IC or a reference design if any. I am also quite concerned about how the battery recharging shall behave during the 1-2A curst current demand from the SIM800C. Any suggestion or help will be highly appreciable. thanks

Hello TI experts,
after a complete charge, when requesting CACH & LMD registers via the BQ2050 DQBus we got the following values:
CACH = 0x81
LMD= 0x7F
Is there a case where the available compensated capacity can be over the LMD (maximum capacity) after a charge?
Thanks for your help,
Nicolas
Hi Sir,

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2
Hi
I began some tests to learn about the BQ40z50 with the help of the EVM. (I used a power supply for charging and 20 Ohm load for discharging)
My configuration is: 3 Li-ion cells 3.63V/2600mAh. I chosed the chemistry ID which is closest to my cell (ICR18650-26JM) then I did the calibration with BQStudio, enabled FET_EN and started charging. Here're some points I didn't understand:
1) battery starts charging at 0.5A and balancing is working but after a while the CHG mosfet got off and charging current became 0A. That's ok but I didn't understand why. The cells voltage were still far from 4.2V that I set. In addition I set Design Voltage= 10890mv (3x3.63V). Gauge reached 100% SOC ???
2) then I attached a load syncing 0.5A. Discharge began but I had to stop it because 1st cell gaves some problem: after a while, its voltage dropped too low and BQStudio revealed there was an undervoltage fail. In fact cell n. 1 was quite unbalanced, about 100mV lower than the other two.
Anyway I tried to charge the cells again but I didn't succeed to charge at 0.5A as before: I had to reduce the charging current to 0.3A. After a while I increased the current and that worked. Why?
Can somebody help me understand? In particular I didn't understand how can I fully charged and discharged my 3S pack battery. What's missing?
Thanks
