Part Number: BQ25155

Hi Team,

Customer get on question about BQ25155 I2C communication speed. The datasheet shows that the I2C frequency is allowed 100kHz(min), 400kHz(max). However, what the test on their board is 88kHz, does this allowed? Does I2C get an lower speed limit?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Part Number: ISO5852S

Dea sir,

we are using ISO5852S gate driver for our motor drive application. Due to space constrian, we wish to stackup the PCB as shown in the image below.

Its recommended to not to have any tracks under the ISO5852s driver IC.

we are planning to have the power supply circuit in the bottom PCB and gate driver in the top board.

Could you please suggest the minimum requirerd hieght for placing ISO5852S driver. (not based on thte IC height. we required based on the consstraion of the iimage)..

Thanks & reagards,

Rajasekaran.

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2

Hello guys,

I use many bq40z50R2 and sometimes i get after assembling an permanent failure which disables CHG and DSG Fets.

Question:

1. At which condition the PFStatus(TS1) trips? I don't mean PFAlter(TS1)! I can't find any correlation in the TRM.

2. At different boards i get different values: Data Memory(bqStudio) > PF Status > Device Temperature Data > External 1 Temperature: For example -53.8°C or -75.9°C or -32.6°C.
When and how are this values written? Internal and External Thermistor 1 in usage.

Thanks vor help.

BQ25619: test condition of Ibst in

Part Number: BQ25619

Hi team,

I'm looking at BQ25619 datasheet, find something confused.

In datasheet, the IBST parameter, the test condition is VBAT = 4.5, VBUS = 5V, boost mode enabled. Converter switching.

However, in order to enter boost mode, VBUS should less than VBAT + VSLEEP. So I wander does the above test condition the right one? Could you give some comments on this?

Part Number: BQ76200

Hello,

I' m usind following schematics for my circuit:

For Charging part:

with RCHG = 470ohm, Rb=100ohm, Cb=10nF, Rgs_chg2=4.7Mohm, Rgs_chg1=10Mohm

For discharging part:

with: Rdsg=470ohm, Rgs=10Mohm, Rp=56ohm and capacitor beetwen VPack and rp=10nF.

The capacitor beetwen VDCCP and Vbat is 1uF.

The VBat is 12.4V.

 CP_EN is alway ON,

PMON_EN and PCHG_EN are Always OFF.

The mosfet Q1, and Q2 are STL120N8F7  (but I tried also BSC010N04LSI).  I don' t have PCHG mosfet.

Whit CHG_EN and DSH_EN i have this:

Yellow=VDDCP

heavenly=VBAT

but when I switch ON CHG_EN and DSG_EN I get these on DSG:

Yellow=VDDCP

heavenly=PACK pin

pink=DSG pin

and this on CHG:

Yellow=VDDCP

heavenly=BAT pin

pink=CHG pin

I tried to change the Vddcp capactor from 10nF to 22uF, but never changed except the start time.

I tried to change the Rchg and Rdsg from 0ohm to 33kohm but never changed.

I don' t understand why it doesn't work!!!

TPS82140: Entery capacitor becomes in short-circuit

Part Number: TPS82140

Hello,

i made a design powered by a TPS82140.  The product is a GSM (2G) Modem, so we have some current peaks (less than 1A at the entry).

Components are the same as datasheet specifications except the entry capacitor put at 22uF (16V X5R), which should be better.

On 3 products (from 200 manufactured), this capacitor comes in short-circuit after about 3 weeks used.

Is someone have ever seen this problem ? Could it be due to current peaks ?

Thank's for answer.

Romuald

TPS57040-Q1: Minimum controllable On time for worst case analysis

Part Number: TPS57040-Q1

Hi,

I am working on worst case analysis for the TPS57040-Q1 circuit.  The datasheet of the device indicates that the minimum controllable On time is typically 130 ns.  Then, what is the worst case value for the minimum controllable on time?

I really appreciate if any one can answer my question.

BQ35100: Force reset won't clear the accumulatedcapacity buffer

Part Number: BQ35100

Dear TI-Forum users,

As the title describes, a force reset in unsealed mode doesn't clear the 0x02 flash read register.

This is what I do now as referred in 8.2.2.2.1 of the datasheet:

Step 0: Reset the BQ35100, set it to the ACC mode. (GE is high)

Step 1: Set GE high to power up the BQ35100 gauge and wait for ALERT to go low due to INITCOMP = 1.
Step 2: Clear ALERT (read BatteryStatus()) and send GAUGE_START().
Step 3: Read AccumulatedCapacity() for the latest passed discharge data since GAUGE_START().

Running some code here

Step 4: Send GAUGE_STOP() and wait for ALERT to go low due to G_DONE = 1.
Step 5: Read final AccumulatedCapacity() value.
Step 6: Set GE low to power down the BQ35100 device.

Back to step 0 if devices wakes up

The battery is discharging so the AccumulatedCapacity should decrease from its max value to 0.
In the TRM there is no clear explanation about the max value except telling its maximum value is 4.29E9 uAh. It seems like they refer to 2^32 (max value 4 bytes)
or 4294967295 to be more specific. If so please agree. Also there is no clear way described in the TRM to reset this value.

Thanks a lot for the help!

Yours Sincerely,

Jorg

BQ78350-R1: BatteryMode() issue

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

Hello;

I'm having problems when attempting to set the CAPM bit in the BatteryMode() command. I can successfully read and write from/to other SBS commands...But when attempting to write to BatteryMode (0x03), it won't take.  When I first read it,  I initially get 0x6081, indicating that a "Conditioning cycle requested".  When I write 0xE001, it initially reads back 0xE001...OK.

BUT, when I then reset and run through the configuration routine again, it again, first reads back as 0x6081, and subsequent reads are 0x6001. ??

SO, is there something I'm doing wrong with this SBS command? It doesn't seem to want to be altered.

Part Number: UC1875-SP

Hi Team,

My customer is looking at using both the UC1875-SP and UC1825B-SP in a new application. We would like to understand if either of the two products can be configured such that  Vgs1,2 and Vgs3,4 can operate 180deg out of phase with each other and above 50% duty cycle? It seems like it can but would like your confirmation.

Thanks,
Mitchell

Hi,

My customer have been reading in forums that TI is not planning on providing fusion software compatible with windows 10.

They use this software regularly and it's big deal. They're being forced by their company to migrate to 10 by the end of the year.  So how does TI plan on supporting my customer for this?

Thank you,

Kind regards,

TPS720-Q1: Looking for alternative device w/o bias

$

Part Number: TPS720-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer is looking for an LDO to convert 3.3V to 2.8V for some really sensitive sensors, the 3.3V is bucked down from 12V supply (2.2Mhz switching converter), and their system doesn't have a voltage rail between 4.2V-5V. The TPS720-Q1 looks like a great candidate due to it's very high PSRR and AECQ rating, but the need to bias this part makes it a no-go. I wanted to get your feedback on what your recommendation is for a very similar device that doesn't require external bias.

Thanks,
Mitchell

Hello, Im designing a 5S pack of 18650 cells for a school project, and was confused on how one would go about charging batteries that are connected to a BQ77915. Would I connect output of the battery charging IC to pack+ and pack- of the BQ77915, or would I have to have to bypass it in someway. Thank you for any help!

Part Number: TPS54495

Hi,

my customer would like to know the minimum input voltage for 5V output. the datasheet shows the input vs output voltage for 3.3V which gives a minimum input voltage of around 4.5V. Do you have the input vs output voltage graph for 5V output?

Thanks,

Kevin

BQ4050: Is there current scaling so that I can use the device with currents above 32760mA?

$

Part Number: BQ4050

Variations on the BQ device include a current scaling factor so that larger battery packs and currents can be used. I don't see this function on the BQ4050 and I assume that I am missing the right register / command? To get around this problem I have calibrated the system by specifying a resistor is 2X the real value - but is there a better way?

Thanks  in advance.

TLC5947: TLC5947

Part Number: TLC5947

Hello,

I've tried to study the datasheet and various online threads about LED PWM Driver chip, TLC5947 but I am not able to get clear answer for the following:

1. With this IC, how can I control individual OUT pin LEDs?

2. If I want to keep some LEDs OFF and individually control brightness (PWM) of the remaining OUT channels, how can I do that?

3. Can I drive each LED at different PWM - different GS Data?

4. According to Page 13 of the datasheet, it looks like all OUTn Ch. operate as per GS Data PWM. How can I keep some LED OFF and individually access each OUT Ch?

5. Can you please explain SPI protocol for programming of this chip? As per SPI, Master Microcontroller needs to get data back on MISO line after every data on MOSI line. How would this chip sends data back to Master?

Thank you
