TPS2378: TPS2378 PoE and PSE SWITCH identification problems

Dear Sir,

Please refer to the question as below that feedback from my customer and help me get the solution.

PS: ED004 is our company product that POE AMP with DANTE function and PoE chip use TPS2378

 

  ED004 when using a Cisco Catalyst Series PoE+ switch, the switch did not recognize the amp as a PoE+ device so the switch port would only deliver 15W. You can see on the attached picture the device does recognize the amp as a Class 4 device but it needed command to the switch to activate the PoE+ portion. This device will need to implement LLDP for POE+ power management.

UCC28019: 1600W PFC Power

I want to use UCC28019 to design 1600W PFC power. When the power is 1300W, the current waveform is distorted. Please see the screen (location 1) as attachment.

My questions are:

1. What's the possible reason for the current distortion?

2. How to avoid the current distortion and improve my power to 1600W?

BQ24160: JEITA Charge done

Hi,

When VWARM > VTS > VHOT, does the charge completion flag do asserted?

When temperature becomes normal before charge completion, I think that the charger will complete normally .
But, when VBAT reduced 140mV by VWARM > VTS > VHOT, recharge is not performed anymore because recharge voltage is 120mV until temperature becomes normal.
If temperature becomes normal, it will recharge.

Is this explanation correct?

Hello,

My spec for LM5170 is single phase operation Vin  54V  Vout 52V.  

In the initial simulation phase, I use TINA  LM5170 simulation.

I had done anything I can think of. 

including setting VisetA to 5V and changing Rcs, current loop compensation. 

The output voltage seems maximum is 50.8V  step down from 54V

by the way the operation frequency had down to 75kHz. 

and the dead time for rise and fall is minumum (Rtd =1k ohm)

and the Ramp signal side is setting from datasheet calculation. (I know there is typo in the spreadsheet. ) 

is the maximum off time is around 700ns? 

My application is battery charger, by charging the battery to close enough to the float charge point.

the main switch will be conduct.  if the voltage difference between floating voltage to battery is 2V

the current will approximately flow 2V/50mohm = 40A

UCD90320: alert setting

In my project, I use UCD90320.

Because BMC comes access to UCD at a frequency, only once per second. But a voltage into UCD change may be 1kHz.

Is UCD have a way to record which profile was triggered at that time and the value of its voltage, so that they save some in the register?

And then clear the register when the BMC read?

Hi, I wanted to query the design results that Webench is giving me for LM61460-Q1. Input params: Vin 16V to 17V,  Vout 14.4V, Iout 4A

Webbench returns: Duty Cycle 86.38%, Efficiency 97.9%,  Frequency 402.46 kHz

Schematic and bom show an inductor value of 15uH, which is what I wanted to query.

According to the data sheet 9.2.2.3 Inductor selection:

 "Note that when selecting the ripple current for applications with much smaller maximum load than the maximum available from the device, the maximum device current should still be used. Equation 4 can be used to determine the value of inductance."

Max device current is 6A, and using K=0.25.....

L = ((Vin - Vout)/(Fsw.K.Iout)).(Vout/Vin)

((17-14.4)/(402460 . 0.25 . 6)).(14.4/17) = 3.65e-6

I calculate an inductor value of 3.65uH but Webench says 15uH. ???

       1,We have a line lamp project requirement, and we are going to use LM3445 to do it.I have seen TI's lm3445evm-695, and I think this circuit is relatively complex. Can you explain the functions of each circuit in the DEMO (the position of the red box is drawn)?

2,The capacitance of lm3445evm-695 is 22uF.If the grain filling capacitance increases, does it affect the output?There is a formula for the relationship between capacitance and output voltage and current

3,The output dimming line lamp power is not the same (such as: a total of three line lamps in parallel, the output voltage is 42V, the current is 160MA, 320MA, 480mA), what should LM3445 do to ensure the dimming depth of three lamps consistent?

I am wondering that whether I can program microcontroller in BQ76PL455A-Q1 Evaluation Board or not. If I can program it, How can I do it? ıs there any document regarding with this issue? And Can I program it on C/C++ level or Do I need to program it on register level? 

Also I want to learn communicaton between microprocessor and BQ76PL455A-Q1 chip. Does BQ76PL455A-Q1 chip send measued voltage current values automatically on preset settings or do we need to configure it ?

Hi there,

In my project, our customer would like to use UCD90320 judge if input voltage (PVNN_PCH_AUX) for PCH is normal or not?

Power: PVNN_PCH_AUX is generate from TI  TPS51518 chip and TPS51518 communicate with PCH by VID signals.

TPS51518 provide 4 different voltage (0.85V,0.9V,0.95V,1.0V) to PCH by VID setting accordingly.

We intend to connect PCH VID signal to UCD90320 GPI pin so that UCD90320 know what PVNN_PCH_AUX voltage level should be.

UCD90320 can check PVNN_PCH_AUX is normal or not?

PVNN_PCH_AUX is connect to UCD AMON pin, Intel PCH VID connect to UCD DMON as GPI purpose.

Please feedback the connection is correct or not.

When I try short circuit testing,  the MOS did turn off , but the status flag never turn to RED,  and the MOS turn on immediately  when remove the load.

Dear Engineer!

The ucc28c4x series still screams in production, and to find out why, I read ucc28c42's Datasheet. carefully. 

At the same time, to confirm whether I understand the content of datasheet, the corresponding formula on pages 28 to 31 is calculated, and finally I find that the bode diagram I draw is different from that in datasheet.

I don't know what's wrong or I don't understand datasheet.. I'd like to ask for advice. Thank you!

my customer want to use TPS61196 , but they just need 6 current sink of it, as they have high voltage power on board already, so they don`t need boost of TPS61196. could you help to confirm if this works?
