TPS3840-Q1: Is there a possibility that tP_HL is max and tD is min ?

Hi TI-team

Is there a possibility that tP_HL is max and tD is min ?

Since tP_HL and tD are variations in the internal circuit of the IC, are you sure that there is a correlation in the relationship between min and max ?

My customer are confirming how long the IC can output Lo when V_IT- is detected.

They want to confirm the relationship between tD and tP_HL.

TL431: About the rise time.

As bellow figure, It takes 50uSec to rise time.

Why does it take so long until the desired voltage?

Is there any option to disable entering LPM0 mode after resetcounter reaches NRes value?

Any option LPM0 mode temporarily? or Reset Error counter value without entering LPM0 mode ?

We need an Temporary option to disable entering LPM0 mode after EC > NRes value.

BQ25120A: Question about ship mode

Hi Team,

Please help to feedback below questions from customer:

 

First power on:

  1. What is the defaut state of BQ25150 as battery insertion without Vin? Ship mode?
  2. If so, how many ways to leave ship mode? Pull low MR until over Twake2, and any else?
  3. If plugged in Vin before battery insertion, BQ25150 will enter normal mode even after Vin removed?

 

Enter ship mode:

  1. We can set MR_LPRESS_ACTION to trigger HW_RESET or SHIP-MODE.

If set to MR_LPRESS_ACTION  to SHIP-MODE, do we still need to set EN_SHIP_MODE=1?

  1. There are two ways to enter ship mode by set EN_SHIP_MODE=1, right?

#1: Plug in adapter to Vin and set EN_SHIP_MODE=1, BQ25150 will enter ship mode after Vin removed.

#2: No Vin and set EN_SHIP_MODE=1, after MR pin pull low to over T_wake2, BQ25150 will enter ship mode after MR pin released.

 

Leave ship mode,

  1. After pull low MR pin to over T_wake2 while BQ25150 is in ship mode, BQ25150 will leave ship mode to normal mode. Does BQ25150 still keep EN_SHIP_MODE=1 or change to default=0?

low noise split rail supply for op amps

Discussion - what's the best way to deliver split rail for powering op amps +/-12V (up to +/-18V) @ 150mA from 8-17Vin?

Would need to be simple and possibly low-noise.

Do you have any characteristic data of output voltage accuracy of TPS7A30 at Tj=-30℃~70℃ like Figure 1 and 2 in TPS7A25 datasheet? If you have, please share with us.
If not, could you let me know the accuracy at Tj=40℃ and 70℃?

TPS65910: PWRHOLD connection

Hi, we are changing the PMIC from TPS65910AA1 to TPS65910A3A1 to support for DDR3 device on an existing product. The PWRHOLD pin was connected to VDDS_DDR(SWIO output) in current product, see below schematic, we realized that the HI level margin become less for the PWRHOLD after the change, as VDDS_DDR from 1.8V to 1.5V. 

We did a experiment on current product that connect the PWRHOLD to the output of VDAC output, but the system cannot power down successfully. Only we change to VAUX33, the system can power off. 

Could you help me to understand the reason of the behavior?

Hi Team,

When testing CSD97395/CSD95373, our customer found that the SW node undershoot less than -0.3V is longer than 10ns, please refer to the waveform below.(They use TPS53626+CSD97395/CSD95373)

On the datasheet, it says that Vsw shouldn't be under -7V for longer than 10ns. Could you please have a look at the waveform above and give some comments about will this undershoot cause any damage to the device?

ULN2003A: EMC static test issue

Hi team,

After doing the EMC static test, the customer found that Uln2003 was damaged, the details are as follows;

  1. Test method: contact discharge, ± 8Kv, 10 strokes.

    Application: 2003 driving electronic expansion valve.

    Phenomenon: One of the outputs is short-circuited to ground.

  2. Customer’s question:

  • What is the static level of this material?

  • Have you encountered similar situations before and how did you rectify them?

      3. My analysis and answer

  • The static level of this test is realated to the HBM in datasheet which is 8Kv.

  • This Voltage range 8kv of the test has over the HBM (2kV) in datasheet so that the ULN2003 can’t afford.

Do I understand correctly? Could you please double-check my answer ? you can give your answer if you have any better answer.

when we use the TPS54336A, we find a confuse about the MIN ON time, off time, need your support to classify it.

1. 90% - 90% of Vin, what is this means.

2. min off is 0 until the Vboot > 3V? means can be 100% duty before the Vboot below 3V, right.

I am using a common Anode LED's and the circuit is very similar to your reference design "Capacitive Touch-Based User Interface with Proximity Sensing and LED Animation Reference Design TIDA-01559". The only difference we are powering with a 5V source. 

Since the charge pump output is not used to power the LED, Can we still use production-level testing of Short and open circuit detection?

If so do I still need to enable the Charge pump 1.5X mode during Open LED test and 1X Mode during Short LED Test, even when I am not using the charge pump output of the device.

Hello, I develop power source for a heating (input 12 V, output :8A, 24 V;Fswitch 500kHz). But i don't undurstand how to design control loop. i can't found correct values for R6, R7 and C9. For configuration of the scheme presented in PDF output voltage is only stable 22 V (but divider is designed for 25 V in this config) on load around 8 ohms How i can calculate R6, R7 and C9 values? Datasheet don't contain information about it, it has only 2 reference design.(Please visit the site to view this file)

LM5155: the SS pin of LM5155 as digital power program input

Dear sir,

Page 16 of LM5155 datasheet, 9.3.3 Soft Start session:

The device regulates the FB pin to the SS pin voltage or the internal reference, whichever is lower.  then my understand is that we can control the voltage of SS pin to adjust the output of LM5155. 

would you please help confirm whether we can use one DAC to control the voltage of SS pin of LM5155,  working as the digital program output power?

If we use DAC to control the FB voltage,   maybe it result some stable issue. then SS pin is 1st choice if it works.

TPS65130: Duty Cycle Min & Max

Are you able to provide any more information on the min and max duty cycle specifications? Do these specifications follow a production spread? Whether the delta is 0.5% from typical or 5% from typical heavily dictates the minimum or maximum output voltages possible for a given input voltage.
