Hi Sir,

The absolute max of COMP pin is the 3V in the datasheet. But TI TPS55340EVM-148 C17 is used the 50V level Cap,

Could you please let me know the voltage tolerance of Cap at COMP pin?

May I use 16V level cap on product?

My application SPEC is 19V to 24V.

Part Number:LM25069

Hi Guys

Our customer is using our LM25069-2 as Hotswap application. 12Vin, 12Vout. They tested the current limit operation:

1. Normal room temperature: CH2: 12Vout.  Ignore CH1; We can see the restart time is about 2.62s. It is right. Just short the output 12V to GND for 0.5s.

2.   -10C temperature:  CH1: 12Vout.  Ignore CH2; We can see the restart time is about 2.62s. It is incorrect. Just short the output 12V to GND for 1.5s.

Please find the Sech:

So why is ti different at different operation temperature? Could you help us check if our application circuit is correct?

Your feedback are appreciated.

Hello Sir,

You have mentioned the maximum rating for CS pin voltage i.e, VREF+0.4 voltage. And maximum vref voltage is 5V. The input current is sensed and proportionately it is converted into voltage and given to the CS pin. If input current exceeds that means if it is proportionately greater than the 5V , what happens to the CS pin . and does the controller gets shutdown ?

if not how to set the voltage such that voltage at CS pin does not exceed 5V ?

And to confirm one thing that threshold voltage of CS pin is 2V , if it goes below that voltage the CS pin will not work ??

Thanks.

Linux/BQ27531-G1: How to put battery charger BQ24192 in HIZ through host BMU BQ27531-G1

Hi,

Is there a way to put BQ24192 in HIZ through BQ27531-G1, without using bqStudio. Actually I'm trying to disconnect VBUS and supply only from battery, do reading of capacitive sensor, and then again to connect VBUS, and charge battery again. We have I2C connection from application processor to BQ27531-G1. The system is working well, but now I have issues with sensor. What I need to write through I2C to tell BMU to enable HIZ on battery charger, and then disable HIZ? I know that EN_HIZ is bit 7 in Reg00 of battery charger. Application processor is running Linux.

Thanx for answers,

Nenad

WEBENCH® Tools/LM5022: The output voltage obtained in the simulation does not correspond to the one specified in the design

Part Number:LM5022

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello,

I used the 'WEBENCH POWER DESIGNER' to design a DC/DC power design with these specs:

  • Vin_min = 18V
  • Vin_max = 28V
  • Vout = 24V
  • Iout_max = 3.5A
  • Vout_max_ripple = 0.5%

Of the possible solutions offered by WEBENCH POWER DESIGNER, I have chosen this with IC LM5022:

https://webench.ti.com/appinfo/webench/scripts/SDP.cgi?ID=79186C64D446DC3F

During the 'Steady State' simulation the results do not correspond at all to the output voltage value. (graph_01). The simulation gives an output voltage value of 15V instead of 24V and a lot of ripple. For what is this?

Thank you

TPS51120: Automotive EMI filtering

Part Number:TPS51120

G'day,

I'm using the TPS51120 as part of the power management solution for an automotive device. The device is powered directly from the battery as follows (VBATT_FILT connects to VIN on the TPS51120):

I hoping for some guidance as to the level of EMI filtering/conditioning required by the TPS51120 in an automotive environment. I have surge/load dump (TPSMC20CA) and reverse polarity (RB088LAM-30TFTR) protection, but feel that some sort of common mode choke should be incorporated (located in the 'gap' in the schematic above). Would this be required for successful/optimal operation of the TPS51120? If not the TPS51120 itself, would the common mode choke (or an alternate filtering methodology) benefit the high/low side MOSFETs attached to the TPS51120?

The device is rated up to 15A, with an external 15A fuse on the power input cable. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

I need to select a suitable eval board to use so that I can drive my power electronics properly. I have 2 PWM signals that have a fixed overlapped duty cycle and need to vary the PWM frequency, as well as having a second separate independent PWM that controls a daughter board.

Would you be able to advise me on the most suitable EVM please? I spotted the following on the website, which would interface with the UCD3138CC64EVM-030;

UCD3138PFCEVM-026 Digital PFC Pre-regulator EVM

UCD3138PSFBEVM-027 Digital Phase-shifted Full-Bridge DC/DC Converter EVM

UCD3138LLCEVM-028 Digital LLC Half-bridge DC/DC Converter EVM

Many thanks,

Hello Friends

I am using Bq27441DRZT-G1A which is on i2c. I am using LI-ION Battery 3.7V 10.4Ah. So I have configured the maximum battery capacity as 8000mAh.

After configuring the guage I have sealed it and for every 20sec I am read the block value in which I am reading the battery voltage, current, battery_capacity,remaining battery_capacity and state of charge.

My questionis I have configred my battery capacity as 8000mAh but still it is showing 1200mAh.

Part Number:TLC59116FEVM-571

Hi,

We need to produce teal color with coordinates as shown in the attached image.
We have used LP55281RLEV-NOPB evaluation board but we didn't achieve teal color. It will support only 64 steps (6 bit) variations.
Now we have ordered  another TI's evaluation board TLC59116FEVM-571 which supports upto 256 steps (8 bit) color variations.
Please suggest us how we can get the coordinates as shown in the attached image to form the teal color using these evaluation boards (LP55281& TLC59116).
Thanks

LMG5200: pushing frequency limit (follow up)

Part Number:LMG5200

Hello everyone,

We built a testboard with the LMG5200 and tried to verify that the component can be used for frequencies beyond the 10 MHz. During measurement we realized that everything looks like expected for frequencies up to 10 MHz but if we reach approx 11 MHz actually only every second switiching is passed through. So if we set our target frequency of 13.56 MHz (and low enough voltage&current to avoid dangerous heating of the device) only every second pulse is visible leading to a frequency of 6.78 MHz. We are aware of the "minimum input pulse width that changes the output  = 10ns" but the fact that the pulses are showing up correct for 10 MHz and for 11 MHz they look the same but only every second pulse is dropped completely indicates that not the "minimum input pulse width" is the limiting factor.

Does the logic of the LMG5200 have a built-in "frequency lock out" or are we missing something else?

UC1901: Specification to choose the 1:1 transformer?

Part Number:UC1901

Team,

The idea is to use UC1843 as PWM controller and UCx901 for feedback using a transformer:

-Do we have some more precise information to dimension/choose the transformer?
Page 4 gives some information (se below) but do we provide more generic information?
    Transformer Data: N1 = N2 = 20TAWG 26
    Core = Ferroxcube 3E2A Ferrite, 0.5" O.D. toroid
    Carrier Frequency = 1MHz

-Can the TI TINA model we provide be used to dimension/select the transformer?

TPS54202H: EN/UV Lockout accuracy

$

Part Number:TPS54202H

I'm trying to substitute the TPS54202H in for the TPS54202 since the TPS54202 is impossible to find.

I'm using the EN/UV pin to protect the battery from over discharge.  I'm using an R4 of 668k and an R5 of 95.3k.  All my calculations and a spice simulation say that the enable and disable voltages should be 10.17V and 11.12V respectively.  However, I'm getting consistently 10.4V and 11.34V, which seems to point to an extra ~2.2Meg if impedance to ground on the EN node.  I've built up two samples and both do it even after swapping out the parts. I've measured the blank PCB resistance to ground an it is VERY high impedance with no parts populated. Resistors are all 1% and I measured them before populating.  So it has to be the TPS54202H

This is starting to make me question the specifications of the device or the calculations in the datasheet don't reflect what the part actually does.

LM74700-Q1: Higher than 75V protection scheme

$

Part Number:LM74700-Q1

Hello TI,

we plan to implement a reverse polarity protection based on LM74700-Q1. However our worst case voltage anode - cathode is > 75V. The design idea is to have a Zener/TVS across cathode/anode).

The TVS would support the FET in forward direction when the FET is off (parallel to body diode). When anode goes below cathode by the TVS voltage (say 60V), the TVS would clamp and protect FET and LM74700-Q1. Some amount of current would be pulled back via TVS to source.

Any opinions on that solution from TI side?

Best regards

-Rene
