Hi,

customer use LM74760-Q1 as full bridge rectifier, the charge pump capacitor is 1uF/16V, use CSD18563Q5 as transistor.

but they found that there are noise on Vin and Vgs signal is abnormal. please see the below pictures.

BQ40Z60: Is this BMS capable of operating with 1 failed battery?

Part Number:BQ40Z60

I'm looking for a BMS chip which is capable of determining that one out of three cells has fails.
If this is detected the failed battery doesn't get used anymore and the BMS goes working on on two cells only.
I'm asking this because we have had battery packs where one of the 3 cells fails.
But it wouldn't be a problem for us if the BMS keeps on working but then with a lower output voltage.

BQ2947: BQ2947

Part Number:BQ2947

Hi Guys,

in the the datasheet is written that the bq2947 covers a OPV range from 3.85V to 4.6V and one has to select the desired OVP by choosing the correct suffix of the partnumber (for example bq294707 for 4.225V).

My problem is that I want to have an OVP of 3.85V for a LiFePo4 but I can't find a suffix/part for it.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards
Gerrit

LM36274: Can LED driving outputs be connected in parallel?

$

Part Number:LM36274

Hi,

we are looking into LM32674 and other chips to drive WLEDs with up to 50mA.

We have 2 or 3 LED-strings consisting of 4 to 6 WLEDs, each.

They shall independently be switched on and off.

Input voltage range is 3 to 5V.

When going for the LM32674 we would need to connect string outputs LED1 to LED2 and LED3 to LED4 for 60mA capability.

Unfortunately the datasheet does not mention this possibility (TPS61176 datasheet does), but as outputs are true current sinks: why not?

Are there any restrictions to expect?

Or maybe TPS61176 or LP8556 do better fit to our requirements, when combined with high side switches (PFET) to select the string to be active at a time.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you very much for your support!

Best Regards

Part Number:UCC28780

Hello,

I am using UCC2870 for my Activ Clamp Flyback Converter and my goal i to make a Converter with a output power 160W (Vo=40V and Io=4A). I am Using your UCC28780 GaN SIMPLIS Model (45W Output Power) for my Simplis Simulation. I already changed the Parameters for the (Rvo1  and Rvo2) and it worked i got something about Vo=40V and Io=4.3 A but after 160ms of Simulation, the Over Power Protecion turns on and breaks up!

I tried to program it by changing the Values of Ropp and Rcs but it Didnt work. Can you please tell me which Parameters i need to change, to become a activ clamp Flyback Converter with Po=160W. And how i can Calculate that?

Thanks!

UCC28700: Fuse tripping while using oscilloscope for primary side measurements and analysis

Part Number:UCC28700

Hi,

I have just designed a Flyback Power Supply using the UCC28700. The connector(power receptacle) for the AC mains contains just two terminals line and neutral no earth. The problem is whenever I connect my oscilloscope reference to the ground on the primary side the fuse for my office is tripped.

The input to the circuit is 230V 50Hz. I am using single ended 10:1 passive probes rated for 300V RMS for my measurements. Please let me know the best technique to observe the primary side waveforms for the circuit.

Thank you in advance.

Part Number:TPS40170

TPS40170 has two internal regulator, VBP 8V regulator and VDD 3.3V regulator.

Do these turn on by adding both VIN and Enable?

When VIN and Enable are added but UVLO is low, do these regulators keep output? Or do these regulators turn off by UVLO becomes low?

Hi every one ,

i searching TI for type of LDO regulator for power supply of my board that use in car and supply from car's battery .

my board have micro controller and GSM module and 12 v , 3A input power .

we all know power supply of car have lots of noise so any body can suggest me a LDO, circuit and document for design a power circuit that use from car's battery.

thank you

LM5060: Increase gate sourcing current

Part Number:LM5060

Is there a way to increase the gate sourcing current of 24uA?

Is it sensible to drive an additional current (250uA) permanently into the gate to ensure faster switching? In off state this additional current will be handled by the LM5060 which is capable to sink 2.2mA and keeps the gate voltage low.  Is the LM5060 able to permanently handle this additional current? A broken LM5060 will result into a gate current and into FET activation.

Part Number:TPS40170

I would like to know the timing that high side FET becomes ON at pre-bias condition.

Does high side FET start switching when device becomes enable regardless of the pre-bias voltage level?

Or does the timing of high side FET start switching change depend on pre-bias voltage level?

If the later is yes, how does the device decide start timing?

Part Number:TPS84621

Hi,

I am using the TPS84621 Buck converter for my application to generate +3.3V from +12V. I need to use the UVLO feature. How to select the resistor divider network?

Details are not available in the Datasheet. Some fixed values are given in the Datasheet.

Is there any formula for calculating the resistor values based on the UVLO voltage?

UCC5350: Miller clamp version and bipolar power supply & Clamp pin connection with parallel MOSFET

$

Part Number:UCC5350

Hello,

I got questions about the UCC5350M with Active Miller Clamping.

1)      Is it possible to use bipolar power supply as -5/18V with the UCC5350M ?

I expect to use SiC MOSFET and recommended gate voltage is -5/18V. With simulation model I can observe Miller effect and false turn-on with negative drive voltage ! Thus to overcome this problem, active Miller clamping seems to be a good solution. Using a Unipolar power supply with UCC5350M cannot be done on my application due to low threshold voltage of SiC MOSFET, clamping threshold voltage is quite above Vgsth, moreover gate charge is very low.

I tried to simulate UCC5350M on LTSPICE, it works fine with unipolar power supply. However it doesn’t with bipolar power supply. I expected to see activation of Miller clamp when the gate voltage rises above -3V (with -5V on negative drive). Simulation model seems not planned to be used with bipolar power supply.

2)      Lastly, Have you some recommendations about CLAMP pin connection to drive parallel MOSFET ?

My application requires to parallelize MOSFET. To limit oscillations and dynamic unbalance, I think to partially decouple gate as in Figure 5c of the following technical documents. (www.st.com/.../en.Design_rules_for_paralleling_of_Silicon_Carbide_Power_MOSFETs.pdf)

But decoupling resistor will increased the impedance of clamping path.

Joris

BQ24100: Not charging battery.

Part Number:BQ24100

Hi everyone!

I have a problem.

When the input voltage is + 5V, the battery does not charge
When the input voltage is less than + 5V, the battery is charged.

I take schematic from datasheet (calculate only resistor on SET1 and SET2 pins (1.5A current)), but it doesn't work.

My scheme:

V input= 5V. Only one 18650 battery.

UCC28180: Application

Part Number:UCC28180

I am building a Boost PFC(Pout:50W, Vout: 60V) circuit using UCC28180 PFC CCM controller. The AC input range is 30-40V  rms. I was using a 0.01ohm current sense resistor. Compensation circuit was desined and IC functionality was tested by giving 1V at Vsense and -0.1V at Isense.

When I set the Input voltage to 32Vrms (before turning on controller Vout= 34Vdc, Iin=0.7A) and turn on the controller, the output voltage dropped to 9Vdc  and input current shoots up to 10A. I found mosfet got burnt and IC  failed.

Later I changed the current sense resistor value to 0.03ohms and started test again, the controller was working fine now. How the current sense resitor value affects the IC operation even though the voltage to Icomp was below 5.7V with 0.01Ohms Current sense resistor as per the UCC28180 design calculator .
