LMR14020: Could we use Simple Switcher device with inverting buck-boost topology ?

Hi teams

I am seeking a device to generate 20V to negative 12V output power rails.

Inverting buck-boost topology is the only topology i known can meet this requirement.

I have found a TIDA use TPS5401 to generate -12V that have shown below.

I wondering to konw:

  1. Are this topology could apply in all TI buck converter?
  2. Could this topology could apply with our synchronous converter like LMR23630?
  3. What design consideration show be noticed with this topology?

   Dear all:

        Customer used BQ24133 for 2 CELL charger.  When customer do the 12V power plug in/out test, it is found that the charging IC has a chance to stop charging. STAT PIN blinking.

    Could you help give some suggestion? thanks

BQ24600: Battery Detection Issue

Hi,

BQ24600 IC is been used in the charging circuit for one of our application.

I've been facing an issue of battery charging!! The pack is not getting charged!

The circuit is designed for 4 cells in parallel lithium-ion pack with charge current of 4A.

The circuit is exactly same as the EVM with change of the part for MOSFETs (instead of SiR4260p, Im using CSD16404q5a),

The voltages at VIN=12, Vref=3.3, Iset=0.8, vset=1.5(When pack voltage=3V) as expected according to the specification & requirement.

Additional details:

- STAT LED blinks when thermistor is removed as expected,

- LED is glowing constant,  even when battery is not connected (tried to remove high value capacitors in the battery line, but still no results) which should be blinking as per the datasheet?

I've attached the schematic (Battery terminals are BAT & GND), please find the same.

We would really appreciate any help in solving this issue. Let me know if I can provide any additional information.

LM2775: Difference between LM2775 and LM2775-Q1

What is the difference between these two parts ? Are there issues with the LM2775 I should be aware of ? I am asking because it seems LM2775 is still available but 'until end of stock' (Farnell) and LM2775-Q1 seems not to be available yet.

This chip does exactly what I need: provide 5V at à couple of 100's mA from a battery at 3.6V. Is there a better choice or other option ?

TPS65175: How to modify the sequence between EVEN and VST

My customer is using TPS65175. They find the rising edge of EVEN (pin 46) is 1.8s delay from VST (pin 45) signal. They need rising edge of EVEN comes earlier or same time as VST signal. Could you advice how to modify the sequence?

CH2: EVEN

CH3: VST

In high side mosfet side iam using schotky diode for improving efficiency, In PCB placement i placed HIGH SIDE MOSFET at top side and schotky at bottom side , is there any issue with that?? is it affect the purpose of the schotky diode in the circuit .

Hi,

I'm considering design a 12Vin to 1.2Vout/21A power supply by TPS549D22. It will supply 14pcs of DDR4 VDD, as the space is very limited. The part number of DDR4 is K4A4G165WE from Samsung and MT40A2G4 from Micron. The supply range for VDD should be 1.2V+-60mV. I'm worrying the voltage drop on PCB trace would beyond the 60mV limit. And, the remote sense of TPS549D22 can only compensate one of the 14pcs DDR4. 

Do you have any advice for the schematic and layout? Or, is there a better solution than TPS549D22?

I am interested in the uc1846 chip in which I found the characters which could be controlled by external PWM signal on sync feet ( pin10) ,

meanwhile the CT feet (pin8) need to be grounded. Now my question are:

1. how much is the dead time after external PWM signal connect to the sync feet ?  like this design method than meet to drive full bridge circuit ?

2. The dead time still could be adjusted after external PWM signal connect to the sync feet ?

LM5160A: Flybuck practical Circuit not working as simulation results

Hi 

I'm designing a Flybuck DC-DC converter using the LM5160A. The design has an input voltage in the range of 25 V to 45 V. I have designed for an output of 12.5 V on the primary side and 14 V on the secondary side. I simulated using LTspice. In the simulation, with no load, I get a primary side output voltage of 12.58 V and a secondary voltage of 16.25 V, which for me was fine. When I built the circuit, the primary output voltage rises to 8.5 V and the secondary output rise to a voltage close to the input voltage (Input voltage at 28 V). The secondary side voltage starts dropping, starting off fast and as it gets close to only a few volts starts dropping slowly. The secondary side eventually increases again, sometimes above the input voltage, before it starts dropping again. The primary side voltage also starts dropping at some point, this happens slowly.

While looking for what the problem could be I noticed that the SW pin is not switching, what could possibly cause this to happen? Please see my attached schematic. Any help will be appreciated.

design and analysis of a full bridge resonant tank LLC DC-DC converter

I've designed a half bridge resonant tank LLC that control IC is L6599 and specification is blow:

input voltage: 380Vdc - 400Vdc

output voltage: 60Vdc

output power: 600W

and I'll design a full bridge resonant tank LLC DC-DC, but the specification is blow:

input voltage: 25Vdc - 36Vdc

output voltage: 380Vdc - 400Vdc

output power: 1000W

also I've researched very paper, design example, application note, IEEE conferences. but I'm cannot calculate the circuit parameter that resonant tank.

Can someone help me?

TPS25926: Start up waveform

Hi team,

My customer observed startup waveform which has a step in beginning, this was captured after they insert a fan module in the output of TPS259261.
If there is no fan module, the startup waveform is smooth.

I thought it's caused by the capacitance in fan module so I change dv/dt cap from 1nF to 16nF, but still saw a step in beginning.

I thought it's not harmful for the design, but customer would like to know what's the root cause?

Do you have any idea about that?
