Part Number:TPS543C20

hi all,

we are designing w/ 2x TPS534C20 in Master/Slave mode.

is it possible to keep RSN/RSP pins of the slave connected to the output?

they should be left floating, I know, but we have multiple variants and in one we need to keep it connected to VOUT (easier layout): does it create some problems?

thanks a lot in advance

BQ25890: Is it possible to disable HVDCP handshake in hardware?

$

Part Number:BQ25890

I'm using bq25890.

I want to only use the 5V handshake, but now I don't want to enable the device to be charged with 9V.

In REG02, the HVDCP_EN register can be used to enable/disable the HVDCP handshake.

Using software, the REG can only be accessed when the device has been powered up, but the HVDCP handshake processed may already have been finished.

So, is there any way to disable the HVDCP handshake in hardware?

Thank you.

TPS7A47: how to improve LDO PSSR in 200KHz-2MHz interval

$

Part Number:TPS7A47

QCL-DFB laser needs ultra clean supply. LMZM23601 following tps7a4700 are intended to be used to output the required voltage. But a problem occures: the PSSR of tps7a4700 is very low in  200KHz-2MHz frequnce interval and frequency of PWM switch regulaor is in this interval. So something has to be done to reduce the switch noise before LDO, or the ripple may unacceptable. Could you give me some suggestion to it?

Thanks  a lot in advance.

BQ24090: normal temperature fault indication

Part Number:BQ24090

HI Sir/Mdm,

I had been using his BQ24090, and during out testing of this charger, we found the out of normal temperature fault indication from this IC. Usual understand is temperature fault, charging stop and charge light will go OFF. However, this IC has it that temperature fault, charge light remains ON though charging has stop. In the datasheet (pg19), it says “ON for 1st charge” on temperature fault.

My question are, what is the reason behind this indication mode to allow the charge light to remain ON while charging has stopped. This created a false impression that charging is still in progress.

The phrase “1st charge” has been used a number of times, what is the reason that 1st charge cycle is made different from subsequent cycles?

BQ76940: BQ76940

Hi again. Regarding your comment: "... Also be cautious of the construction and connection of references to the high current path, "ground" references can move substantially with short circuit..." it is ok to connect the GND to Earth (BAT-) with a net tie right? In the EVM pdf file, the net tie exists (7.2.3 page 44) so I used a net tie as well. In the file attached, the net tie is highlighted with a circle around it within the PDF and JPG files. This can not cause the problem (Microcontroller resets in the event of short circuit) right?

Thanks for your consideration.(Please visit the site to view this file)

LM5176: Layout clarifications

Part Number:LM5176

G'day,

I'm using an LM5176PWPT to provide a 12V rail for my device from a 7-27V input. I've read through the datasheet a number of times, and have used the Webench tool to construct a suitable schematic. I've followed the layout guidelines presented in the datasheet, which has resulted in the below rough draft:

Without the top layer fill so you can see the individual components:

A couple of notes:

  1. The outside yellow line is the edge cut of the PCB
  2. The outside white border is the 2mm keep out
  3. This is a 4 layer board (signal, GND, PWR, signal); red is top signal, green is bottom signal, pink is PWR.
  4. U26 is the LM5176, shown on the reverse side of the board (top right corner); I obviously haven't yet routed anything to/from it.

The datasheet shows the LM5176 being placed on a large ground fill. As my power circuitry is at the bottom of my board, I'm somewhat pressed for space, so can't have the LM5176 on the same/top side of the board as the datasheet suggests. My question is as follows: if I use a ground fill on the reverse side of the board, and make the required connections to the top ground fill as well as the solid GND plane (layer 2) with vias, can I place the LM5176 on the reverse side of the board, directly underneath the MOSFETs, inductors, etc.?

BQ24050: BQ24050

Part Number:BQ24050

I have a problem with the item BQ24050DSQR- LI-ION charger.

It is programmed to give 0.54A charging current, but for some reason it is not functioning according to the design.

Sometimes it gives a 0.49A charging current and sometimes 0.035A when plugging a wall adaptor.

What can we do to solve this issue ?

TPS22810: Questions about 3 switches regarding technology and datasheets

Part Number:TPS22810

Dear TI,

I would like to ask a few questions about three of your switches. the switches are: TPS22810DBVT, TPS22954DQCR, TPS22965DSGT.

Regarding all 3 switches:

1. Are the switches from the same technology?

2. There is no reference in any of the datasheets(DS) to the thermal coefficient of the thermal resistance during a single pulse and pulses in different duty cycles(similar to DS of mosfets). I would appreciate any information you have on the topic as this information is very important to the design when addressing the issue of the power which develops on the component in wake-up and shutdown.

Regarding TPS22810DBVT(sot23 package) and TPS22965DSGT:

1. Is there any limit on the pace of the rising of the component's Power supply?(are you aware of a phenomenon of pulse escape when there is a too fast input voltage rise in high input voltages? What is the quickest rise time of the power supply that can be fed to the input of the component?)

Regarding TPS22810DBVT(sot23 package):

1. From the comparison of the thermal resistance of the component in WSON package and in SOT-23 package, I can see that the junction-to-board thermal resistance of the SOT-23 package is lower than the WSON’s. This doesn’t seem to make sense, could you explain what makes the difference?

2. What are the Imax and Ipls currents which are allowed to be used in the component? ( the DS shows that in previous versions there was such data but for some reason they were removed)

3. I would like to know what is the difference between the TPS22810DBVT component and the TPS22810-Q1? I reviewed their DS and they seem the same.

Thank you,

Eli

Dears:

There will happen power off and the waveform as follows:

Verifying the 25W load ( using the cement resistor), running for a period of time (such as a few hours), there is no power failure problem, during this period may be overloaded. This time take off the load, and the device is then powered normally. In this case, the device has only the device (5W), but the problem happened.

Part Number:TPS2549-Q1

Hi team,

As for EN pin of TPS2549-Q1, does it provide the same functionality as HW reset when the device is in an abnormal state?

If not, can you explain the difference between EN control and HW Reset of power on/off?

Thanks,

Sam Lee

UCC28950: Minimum value eatimation of DMAX parameter

Part Number:UCC28950

Hi Team,

Dmax of this part has been specified as typ=95%/max=97% on datasheet, but no minimam spec.

Now my Customer would like to estimate the minimum value of this DMAX parameter over temperature range.
How can we estimate it ?
If you have any evaluation(or simulation) data about DMAX parameter over temperature,  It will be available to estimate it.

Part Number:TPS61200

Hello

Thank you for picking up this post. I am designing a circuit which is powered by a single mini Solar Panel and has a backup of a single LiFePO4 Battery. These two things are fixed and critical to the circuit. Till few days ago I was using a LiPo Battery instead of LiFePO4 Battery and was using a combination of TPS61200 and BQ24070. But now I have switch to LiFePO4 and I am unable to find a positive alternative.

The Solar Panel I have to use is V(Nominal) = 5.5v V(Max) = 6.5v Power = 2W (2.5W Peak).

The LiFePO4 is 3300mAh

I request if anyone can help me with a IC or Combination of IC's or IC's with external reference Circuit like in SLVA345 using TPS61200.

Thanks and Regards

Mohit

Hi

Accord to SLUSBZ8B page 9, that show UCD3138A64 I2C_CLK(pin9) can configure as GPIO.

But I find TI do not show associated register in UCD3138A64 code.

Could you let me know how to configure I2C_CLK pin as GPIO?

Hi

I find UCD3138A64 RTC_IN_1_8(pin62) have 1.8V when I measure on this pin.

How should I do for UCD3138A64 RTC_IN_1_8(pin62) when not use this function?

Short to GND, put high to VCC, configure as special function or just let this pin floating.

Hi,

I am considering creating circuits using the TPS61021A device.
I used WEBENCH to check the operation and select a constant.
However, the result of the phase margin is not output to the WEBENCH of this device.
Is it possible to provide phase margin data to me?
Attach the circuit I am thinking now.
