Part Number:TPS27S100

Hello,
I'm considering using the TPS1H100-Q1\ TPS27S100 in an upcoming design. I want some input in whether the TPS1H100-Q1\TPS27S100 is suited for my application or a another part may be better.

Below is the know design criteria:
System/ load Voltage: 28.5 VDC  /- 5%
Normal operation load current: 60mA idle  - 2.5 Amps max speed/load
Over Current trip: 3.5 - 4 amps,  I want to protect a 4 amp slow blow fuse
Inrush current: ~36 amps, 470uC cap

Interface to uC: 3.3VDC

Operating Temp:30- 40 C

The load will be a brush less DC motor connected to a pump and may be switched ON/OFF a few hundred times a day. Max current will not be continuous, pump may run ~30 sec or so at a time.

Thanks,
John

Hi,

The UC1846 IC datasheet mentions a startup threshold of 7.7-8V with 0.75V hysteresis. Is this value ensured by design or by testing? Along with that request someone to verify my understanding. In the hysteresis region i.e., from 7.7V to 6.95V, the IC might function as desired but with some degradation. If there is a degradation in performance, please clarify on the exact details.

Part Number:TPS25942L

Hi!

Help me please with current monitoring throw TPS25942L power switch. Vin is 6V, Rlim = 60,4 kOhms, Rimon = 18 kOhms. I connected to the output of the switch 13 W 15 Ohm resistor, so output current is approximately 0,4 A. Rimon is connected to the ADS7952 ADC (12-bit). I calculated that Vimon at 0,4 load current must be 0,389 V but multi-meter shows 0 V and ADC return me zero value. In parallel to the ADC input I connected RC-filter with 50 Ohms resistor and 150 pF capacitor. Maybe somebody can helps me?

Part Number:ISO5852S

Hi All,

I would like to know if the FLT output pin (13) of the GD "ISO5852S" is been connected to others GDs "ISO5852S" output pins (13),
will it immediately turns-off the other GDs outputs in high current event if these pins (13) will be pulled-down by other GD that detects the DESAT protection event?
Or should I disable the other GDs by controlling the IN+ inputs?

Thanks

BQ34Z100-G1: How to calibrate the gauge

$

Part Number:BQ34Z100-G1

Hello,

First here my settings:

- BQ34Z100EVM

- EV2400, version 18

- Lead Acid battery, 12V 7Ah

- BQ Studio, version 1.3.86

I have already done these things:

- Current and voltage calibration

- Find the Chemical ID using the GPCCHEM tool

But now I have two problems to end the calibration:

- I want to change the value of “Design Capacity”, “Terminate voltage” and other things but bqStudio tells me “a read of data written failed comparison”. It don’t change the value. I have tried many things: UNSEAL FULL ACCESS, ENTER_CAL, CAL_ENABLE. I have also tried to use the BQ studio version 1.3.54.1 but I get the same message. I can I fix this?

- How should I do the learning cycle? Is only one cycle enough? I there a special way to discharge the battery? Do I have to send specific commands to the BQ34Z100-G1 or will it do the calibration automatically?

Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad English,

Guénolé

[FAQ] LP8861-Q1: Different ISET current setting equation

$

Part Number:LP8861-Q1

For the devices LP8861-Q1, TPS61193-Q1, TPS61194-Q1, the maximum current for the LED current sinks is controlled with external Riset resistor at ISET pin. But there are two different equations to calculate Iset current and Riset resistor.

In the datasheet, the equation is Riset= 2342 / (IOUT-2.5). But in the EVM user's guide, the equation is Riset=2000*Vbg/IOUT. In my application, if the required channel current is 20mA, the Riset can be 120kohm or 134kohm. Which one is right?

Hi,

We use LM5160A for flybuck. The input is 9~36VDC and output is 24V. There is a problem is that when the input over 30V, the diode D3 temperature is very high.

Do you have any recommend?

BQ24773EVM-540: Register settings for charge

$

Part Number:BQ24773EVM-540

Hello, I'm using BQ24773EVM-540 for charging a 65 mAh Li-ion battery rated 3.7V. As per the battery datasheet, the maximum charge voltage is 4.2V, and the end of discharge voltage is 2.75V. I'm trying to charge it at 1C i.e. 64 mA using the charging IC. Here are some of the issues I'm having:

1) I've grounded the CELL (TP11) pin to indicate that I'm charging 1 cell. The BATPRES pin is supposed to be low when the battery is connected. However, upon reading with DMM, it is showing high.

2) I've set the maximum charge voltage to 4192 mV using EV2400. And, I am trying to set the charge current to 64 mA using the 'charge current limit' dropdown in EV2400. However, upon setting the value to 64mA, the register values change from 0 to the specified value, but after reading the register, it again goes back to zero. Why is that?

3) The BQ24773 IC datasheet mentions that the precharge current is clamped at 384 mA and is operational whenever the battery is below BATLOWV. The 65 mAh battery which I have may not be able to handle 384 mA, so how do I change the values of BATLOWV?

4) Also, it mentions that when the battery voltage is between BATLOWV and SYSMIN, the charge current is set to 2A. Again, how do I adjust the SYSMIN voltage?

5) I'm actually running a life cycle test on the battery, i.e. I'm discharging it and charging it for 100+ cycles and automating the process using LabVIEW. So, I took a pristine battery and discharged it using an electronic load to 2.75V. After this I used the BQ24773EVM-540 to charge it, it charged at 64 mAh till 3V (for a few seconds), and then the charger current went down to zero. And now, whenever I'm trying to charge the battery using the charger IC, the battery current shows 0mA (I'm using BQ34z100-G1fuel gauge EVM to measure the current). Why is this happening?

6) I haven't changed the values of any registers in BQ24773EVM except the max charge voltage and the charge current? What values should I set the other registers too? Such as the charge options 0, 1 and 2? And also the minimum charge voltage?

I haven't studied electronics much so I don't know how to get ICs to work. Thanks for any and all the help!

I'm a begginer using the evaluation module BQ76PL536EVM-3. When trying to install the software in my computer (Windows 7 - 32 bits and Windows 10 - 64 bits), i receive the following error message:

"Error 1001. An exception occurred during the Commit phase of installation will continue. However, the application might not function correctly after installation is complete --> could not find a part of the path 'C:\Windows\TI\bqxRW.ocx"

After that, the installation is aborted.

I try this link (  ). But this solve doesn`t work. I think setup broked.

How can I solve this?

Thank you.

TPS2121: How to achive fast switchover in manual swichover configiration

$

Part Number:TPS2121

Hi Application tean,

We would like to know how to achieve fast switchover time(5us_typ) in Figure 23 application(manual switchover) on datasheet(SLVSEA3B).

In Figure.23 configuration, selecting VIN1 or VIN2 as input sourve voltage should be done by driving(toggling) CP2 by MCU.

But,  there is the description that  the CP2 voltage needs to be higher than VREF(1.06 TYP)  to enable fast switchover time.

How must we drive CP2 pin from MCU to have fast switchover time?

(Does it mean that  low input level of CP2 driven from MCU be higher than VREF?)

Best regards,

H.Someno

TPS548A20: PWM Frequency Selection

$

Part Number:TPS548A20

The customer applied TPS548A20RVER to configure 12V-> 1.2V.
On the schematic, Rmode is connected to PGOOD PIN and 150Kohm and is set to FCCM Mode.
The customer said there was a problem with the switching frequency.

The customer's opinion is that the switching frequency is from 395kHz to 437kHz as shown in the figure below.
But it seems to me that the frequency does not move much. I think it seems to be a measurement problem.
I talked about trigger condition changes and probe measurements.
But customers are saying the same result.
