Dear TI,
Part Number:BQ76PL455A-Q1
Hello everyone,
My name is Miguel and I am developing a custom made PCB based on the BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC for the management of some custom LiPo cells (for a student project).
This PCB design is mostly based on the suggestions and examples given in the corresponding datasheet. I just finished with the electronic revision of the first prototype I've developed (already finished populating the PCB). Therefore, I have proceeded to connect just the Master Board via UART, providing the required VIO 3.3V supply and tried sending some example command for auto-address learning. I have also connected the 8 cells I will be monitoring per IC, and left them plugged for 10 minutes.
I have two main questions:
- I can't really find in your documentation any procedure as to how to start with the debugging of the electronics (the GUI is only valid for the EVM I guess) so I am not really sure how to proceed for testing of the PCB. Any recommendation or suggestion is welcome.
-There seems to be a bit of overheating right away from the balancing resistors. I have used the suggested FET and a 51 ohm resistor with 0.5W expecting around 100mA current. I am wondering if there's any report of this event and if there's any recommendations for improvements.
Thank you very much and feel free to ask any questions or message me privately.
Best regards and have a nice day,
Miguel Angel Quero
Part Number:BQ28Z610
Hi,
The customer's battery type uses a lithium battery -18650 (2S2P).
When using the BQ24773 as a charger and with the BQ28Z610 for the protection/Balancer circuit, here are a few BQ28Z610 display battery questions:
1. How to set and display(read) the battery capacity?
2. Is there a document with reference?
Thanks,
Vic
Part Number:BQ40Z50-R2
Dear TI community,
is it correct, can I use BQ40Z50EVM-561 with BQ40Z50-R1 and update it with newer Firmware to -R2 ?
Or is there other evaluation board for BQ40z50-R2 or reference design with BOM available?
Thank you very much.
Part Number:TPS53667
TPS53667 has some resistor value table for device setting by pinstrap. Fsw, Slew-rate, per phase current limit and Boot voltage etc...
What level resistor tolerance is required for these setting? 5% is OK? or 1% is required?
On EVM, RF resistor value is 30.1k ohm 1% resistor. Resistor table value is 30k ohm for 500kHz setting. So I think 5% resistor is allowable.

Part Number:BQ40Z50EVM-561
hi Team,
it's observed from the bq40z50 EVM.
it's calibrated with CFET and DFET ON, the SBS display and the multi meter measurements are the same value for pack pin voltage
however, once we turn off the CFET by CFET toggle command
the SBS report voltage is ~40mV less than the measured voltage.
1. what might be causing the difference from the reported voltage and measured voltage? measured voltage to be ~40mV higher
2. if a loader is connected to the P+ (with no load) the reported voltage will become the same with measured voltage again (within 1~2mV)
3. measuring on either side of the R12 on the EVM board, voltage on the side of R12 to Pack Pin is lower than R12 to connector side around 40mV, but why this difference doesn't show when CFET is ON
is there an explanation for the observation?
Thanks for the help
Part Number:TPS563200
Hello Community,
I can’t find the following parameters to calculate the bulk capacitor for TPS563200 in its specification.
Istep -?
Dmax -? (In my case, VIN (12V) - VOUT (5V), it is written in the specification that the maximum value of the duty cycle is 65% - What value should be used for calculations?)
VIN_Tran -?
TR_PS -?
At the moment, my formula is as follows:
CB> = ((0.5 * 1.5 * 0.65 * 0.00003) / 0.36) - ((20 * 0.000001) * (1 - 0.1)) = 0.000022625 (22uF + 20% = 26.4 uF minimum bulk capacitance)
It contains the following values Istep = 1.5A, Dmax = 65%, VIN_Tran = 0.36V, TR_PS = 30us, CCE_Total = 20uF (Tolerance 10%).
My parameters:
VIN - 12V
VOUT - 5V
Iout - 3A
Does this correspond to the real values of the converter, please comment on the values I have chosen, if they are incorrect, please correct me.
Part Number:TPS27S100
Hi,
When using TPS27S100 RCP circuit as shown in datasheet figure 31, does the resistor need to withstand the full reverse polarity voltage (eg for a 1k Ohm resitor and 30V reverse voltage protection, I calculate the resistor needs to withstand a Pd of ~900mW)? Is that correct? The EVM uses a 0805 resistor with only 125mW and wondering if that will be sufficient?
Thanks & BR,
KF
Part Number:TPS61197
I'm trying to calculate the OVP resistor values using the data sheet revised June 2017. The given formula is R3 (top resistor) = ((Vout_ovp - 1) / 3.04) x R4 (bottom resistor). The problem is that I can't make the values used in the example schematics match this formula, or in the evaluation board schematic, for that matter. For example, the example resistor values of 1M and 20K respectively give an OVP value of 149V! Does anyone know of a revision to this formula or why the values don't correspond?
Part Number:ADVANCED-BQMTESTER
Hello,
Is there any updated list of devices compatible with BQMTESTER/ADVANCED-BQMTESTER?
I am specifically interested in the BQ40z50-R2&R3, BQ40z80, bq40z60 and BQ4050 devices. Is any of the BQMTESTERs compatible with those?
Thanks!
Part Number:TPS54560
Hey All,
So I've designed a circuit that uses the TPS54560 to switch a Variable Vin voltage source to and Ideal Vou of 24 volts. When the Vin is decreased to the point where Vout of 24V can no longer be achieved, Vout will also decrease linearly with the decrease of Vin. However when increasing the Vin back to a point such that Vout of 24V is possible (lets say Vin = 40V), the Vout appears to "latch" on the way back up and wont surpass approx 17V.
I've also tested this with the TPS54560-EVM board and get the same effect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Ricky

Dear ALL:
In what case will TPS65310a-Q1 enter into the TEST MODE? Waiting for your reply.

Part Number:TPS61202
Dear Sir,
I have some question about Iq, Isd, ILKG.
1. Which mean there are Vin, Vout, Vaux in Iq.
2. Which mean there are Vin, Vaux in Isd.
3. what is input leakage current.
Thanks.

Dear Team,
Can you help on the schematic review?
I already checked it, but I may need your double confirm.
