TPS62130: EN pin bypass Capacitor

Dear Team,

We can find the bypass capacitor C7 0.1uF connected to EN pin at Figure 7 in the TPS62130 datahseet page 13.
The other hand, there aren't C7 0.1uF at Figure 7 in the TPS62140 datasheet.
Is it necessary to put C7 for TPS62130?

LM5068: LM5068 output capacitance

Hi TI,

I'm using hot swap controllers in my schematic.

The power supply is 32~60V at 20A, and output capacitance is 390µF. 

My problem is it can not start even 1A load because of OCP.

When I moved to output capacitor to infront of sensing resistor. It can start well at full load range.

Is it normal? I attached waveforms of CS pin.

#1 CH4: VSENSE (pin5)

#2 CH4: VSENSE (pin5)

Parameters

1.input voltage: 32~60V

2.Output current: 20Amax

3.Rs: 1.3mohm

Please let me know any side effect when I moved capacitors.

TPS65154: TPS65154 WLED current drive

Hi,

As per TPS65154 datasheet the back light control output is 6 in-depended output. But our LCD has common Kathode LED and the maximum current is 80 mA. 

But the TPS65154 devise is capable of maximum 40 mA drive. In this can we connect all 6 WLED driver channel in parallel to increase the output current. 

Note : we plan to use direct dimming method to control the LCD brightness.

Please share your feedback as soon as possible. 

Refer the schematics which plan to use for WLED

LP2985: ESR of output capacitance

I want to drive a CAN transceiver with 5V generated by LP2985.

The Datasheet states, that the outputcapacicance shall be at minimum 2,2uF with no upeer limit.
But the ESR of the capacitor shall meet the range in figue 18 (in my case).

I am missing the frequency, where the ESR shall be met.
The ESR at DC (where I assume all of the LDOs are working) is too high (to say unlimited when the kapacitor is ideal).

I checked serval Capacitor manufacturer (Kemet, AVX, TDK, MuRaTa) and the ESR at the lowest given frequency is always higher than 1 Ohm.

I would want to use the following 10uF Capacitor at the output.
Will it meet the Requirements of the datasheet?

My customer is confirm about design FMEA and they are requesting TPS3850's Open/Short test data.
Please answer following questions? And if you have test data, could you provide that?

  • If the SET0-pin or SET1-pin is floating, what is occur about device working?
  • If the SENSE-pin is floating, what is occur about device working?(Device is adjustable ver TPS3850H01 )
  • If the CWD-pin is short to GND, what is occur about device working?
  • If the CRST-pin is short to GND, what is occur about device working?
  • If the tie to VDD and CWD directly, what is occur about device working?

UCC3817A: TI MathCAD file can not be read by MathCAD trial version.

 Hello guys,

 One of my customers is evaluating UCC3818A for their new products.

 They tried to read TI MathCAD file TI prepared by MathCAD trial version because they want to adjust some peripheral parts.

 But TI MathCAD can not be read by the MathCAD.

 What do you you think the reason? Can MathCAD trial version not read the file?

BQ25120A: BQ25120 is not getting out of shipmode.

Hi,

BQ25120A  enters ship mode once micro controller sets EN_SHIP MODE bit via I2C command.In ship mode,SYS output turns off and micro controller powers off.Exiting ship mode via MR button press is not happening even depressing MR button beyond t_Reset time has no effect.How to get PMIC out of ship mode?

I managed to read data from bq76pl455a with TMS570. I can see data from debug console. Now I want to send data to a PC using serial communication. I am new add programming TMS570. I couldn't figure out how to use serial communication. Are there any examples about using serial communication. And can you help me integrating this to my code?

Hi Team TI,

We have developed a custom board with BQ34110 fuel gauge IC. We are using LiFePO4 12.8V, 5.2Ah battery. I'm able to communicate with the IC and read Voltage, current, etc., We are majorly interested in SOC and SOH but we understood that we are reading other parameters with respect to default settings and need to change the chemistry and capacity related registers. To do this we need help in configuration of the Gauge parameters(Like Design Capacity, FCC, EDV0 Threshold and few other parameters).

We have read forum posts where they have been suggested to use EVM2300/EVM2400 USB-I2C modules. However, due to some constraints, we may not buy this anytime soon.

So my question is,

Without EVM2300/EVM2400 how do we configure the BQ34110 IC with above mentioned parameters.?

We have set MRREC bit of PMIC to 0 during initialization. As per the data sheet ,PMIC supposed to enter ship mode once reset occurs.But PMIC is not entering ship mode. How to get the PMIC to ship mode?.

Hi folks,

i have an EV2300 to communicate with my bq40Z60 (Gauge) evaluation board. I have seen that the firmware (FW) version on the EV2300 is 3.1c.

I also read that there can be communication problems on this FW version. Is it possible that TI can update my EV2300? I do not want to buy a second EV2300 (necessary for update on my own).

I am working in Munich, Germany. How long will the update procedure last?

    We are now using TPS650940 for Intel APL-I and we use LPDDR4.

    I found "PVINVTT Connect to ground when not in use" in datasheet  and "Same, but with no bypass capacitor required" in "TPS65094x Schematic Checklist, Layout Checklist, and ILIM Calculator tool (Rev. A)"

    Which is right or both? Thanks!

BQ4050EVM-561: Do we need driver to do the integration of a BQ4050 in Windows 10

I try to install BQ4050 EVM in our Windows 10 system.

Battery detected under Windows 10 : Failed     Not seen as regular battery

Do we need specific driver for Windows 10 ?

Is there any ACPI bios issue or others ?

Work done : battery seen using SMB windows tool (success when reading BQ4050 register)

Any idea

Hi,

I have two questions:

1. If I need a high accuracy VSOUT1, can I connect Vtrack1 with external voltage reference to get higher accuracy?

2. My customer reported when they use an electrical load to test the output current of VDD5,  no load on other output, when the output current is 147mA, the output will be off soon, the 147mA is much less than 300mA maximum in datasheet. Same situation on VDD6. Since this is in debug stage, we cannot read the fault status, how should I debug this issue? Thanks.
