I used a compensation calculator tool for TPS40170.

(TPS40KType III Loop Stability kVenable_sluc263c-071312.xlsx)

1. I entered a data in "VIN".But R's and C's value didn't change.

(Nothing has changed about it compared to before)

Does "VIN" item has related for compensation calculator?

2. This tool can use ceramic capacitor.

 when I enter a data in "output ceramic capacitor",

Should I need to consider "DC Bias" for ceramic capacitor?

UCC28780: UCC28780+GaN+UCC24612 SR MOS damage

I use the UCC28780+GaN in my 65W A+C project, (has two ports: type A+type C).

 I open the port A output when the C port has 20V output, then the SR MOS damage.

My RM8 transformer turns ratio is 6.5, SR MOS Vds is 150V,

Do you have any suggestions to avoid this damage? thx.

TPS22976: How to handle of unused pins?

TPS22976 has two channels. How should they handle the pins of unused channel when customer uses only one channel?

Can they handle pins as follows?

  • VINx : OPEN
  • ONx : GND
  • CTx : OPEN
  • VOUTx : OPEN

Hello team,

My customer wants to decrease quiescent current at standby situation for LM3880-Q1.

LM3880-Q1 output should be 'L' at standby.

So, The current is needed not only LM3880-Q1 Iq but also though external pull up resistor current.

The datasheet mentions to use 100kohm.

However, the customer wants to decrease the current.

Could you please provide the maximum pull up resistor value for decreasing the current?

Hello,

we use component which is not recommended for new design. We use BQ34Z110 with two Pb accumulators (12V 7200 mAh in the serial connection of accumulators). In the future, when we will not able to buy BQ34Z110 we will have to migrate BQ34Z100-G1. Do you have any recomandation how we should do this migration? Does exist any technical sheet with changes beetween components BQ34Z110 and BQ34Z100-G1?

LM5021: about vertical current limit stop

Hi,

Does LM5021 have vertical current limit stop?

And, our customer has plan to design isolated dc/dc. That input in DC400V - DC1000V, output power is 10W.

They found the TIDA-010000, however this design has current buffer. They are conserned about switching delay and power loss at turn.

Could you let us know information for ideal TI's solution?

Hi Everyone,

Greetings !!

Iam new to the power supply design. We have designed power supply with UCC28064A and UCC256301 IC (PFC+LLC IC). Almost all design part are completed and now planning to start the testing . Before that want to know how start the bring up for these kind of power supply board since it is having high voltage i dont want to burn my board.

Want to know what is general method followed in design bring up by designer across this field. 

Share your suggestion and if there is any procedure/Test Plan available to this IC's please share.

 Hello guys,

 One of my customers is evaluating LMR23630ADDA for their new products. But the LM23630A is into hiccup mode in the evaluation because their load capacitance connected to output of LMR23630 is very big. So the customer is looking for any device can adjust soft start time with same pin assignment as LMR23630ADDA. I know the the device doesn't have NC pin. so I think it may be difficult to find such device. But we need your help. Could you please give me your reply or comment? Your reply would be much appreciated.

Hey Hi ,

I am designing one application , in which Power Supply is always connected to system.

All I need is the emergency backup supply when their is no Power Supply using Lithium ion cell.

So I need some understanding for BQ21040.

1. Since my application will run continuously , how will the Timer of BQ21040 will be reset after first complete charge when battery will be self discharged after some time, since their is no removal of battery nor it will communicate with the host controller.

2.Since it is given that Charging will again start when "OUT terminal voltage drops 100mV below regulation" i.e. when battery voltage drops below 4.1V , if this is the case , will  battery health  be affected since its charge discharge cycle is not completed properly? or is there any way for setting up the "Refresh Threshold"?

3. Or if this is not the proper IC for such application then please kindly suggest me the Appropriate IC and which will be available.

I have some questions about BQ77PL900's cell balancing operation.

1. I already knew cell balancing is operated in VOV ~ (VOV – ΔVOVH), But when discharging, cell balancing is not working?

2. Is there any spec about cell voltage difference or cell imbalance voltage threshold?

3. At normal state, the one cell's voltage is drop 0.1V. Is this right?
