Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I wonder working principle of BQ76PL455A-Q1. Questions that I have in my mind are:

1. Does it need to be configured before use ?

2. Does it automatically measures voltage current and temperature and transmit data by UART.

3. How can we configure GPIO pins of related chip ?

4. Can I use same chip with a PIC microcontroller without any configuration? If so, does BQ76PL455A-Q1 send automatically data to PIC?

Thanks.

Part Number: TPS54560

We are facing temperature raise issue while output current is 3.2A , input & output ratings are given below.

Input voltage - 32 V ,Output voltage - 5V, Load current - 3.2A continuous load

The entire PCB temperature is raised to greater than 90 deg C when the ambient temperature is 30 Deg.C.

I am really worried about component degradation due to temperature stress.

We were using thermal pad and same was connected with ground.Refer below image.

LM1117: Thermal performance on DCY versus NDE packages

Part Number: LM1117

Hi,

I have questions about the thermal information given in the LM1117 datasheet (SNOS412N) chapter 6.4.

Is it actually true that the DCY package have lower Rjc and Rjb thermal resistance than the NDP package and the other way around when it comes to Rja?

Could you please explain how this come?

Is there any case where the NDP package would be a better choice than the DCY package?

Thank you!

TPS65133: Wide Vin alternative solutions

Part Number: TPS65133

Hello,

we are looking for a dual dc/dc with Vin above 30V and split rail output.

Currently we use LM5166 as step down from 30V and then TPS65133 for the split rail (positive and negative output).

Perhaps it's better to use some dual dc/dc with internal switch and ext. diode and low ext components instead.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

UCC27211: Wrong LO and HO waveforms

$

Part Number: UCC27211

I am adoperating 2 UCC27211 gate driver in a DCDC current controller, the LI and HI inputs are fed by the outputs of a LT3741 controller and LO HO outputs are driving 4 IRL60B216 as it can be seen in this attachment

the inputs of the gate drivers are correctly driven but their outputs are not, the same error can be seen in both drivers

LI and LO:

HI and HO:

Light blue waveforms are the inputs of the UCC and violet waveforms are taken directly at the MOSFET's gates

Speaking about the Low side, i wondered about some voltage drop due to high driver current on the little resistances in series with the gate and i actually noticed that probing directly at the output of the driver

the square wave reaches like 10V (NOT 12V as it should be!!!); hence i tried to modify the value of the resistances but with poor results, i actually also tried to place a 0ohm instead so as to avoid the voltage drop but all I obtained was that 6V square wave clearly both at the gate and at the output of the drivers

Speaking about the High side i wondered about a bad choice of the bootstrap C value, i increased it till 800nF but nothing changed

I also tried to increase the bypass capacitor value up to 4,7uF, to remove the SMDJ15CA and to place a resistor between MOSFET's gates and ground/HS, but still no result! So up to now i have no idea what to do

There is clearly some error in my design because i already used those drivers in a similar design with the same current controller but with different mosfets

TPS74401-EP: DROPOUT VOLTAGE vs IOUT Relationship

$

Part Number: TPS74401-EP

Hello,

I am planning to use TPS74401MRGWREP.

The design configuration as follows,

1. Vin = Vbias = 3.3V

2. Vout = 2.5V (Vin-Vout = 0.8V)

3. Iout = 2.3A

But in Typical characteristic Dropout voltage vs Iout relationship, Dropout is increasing as output current increases.

And my Question is,

1. will this regulation required high dropout at full load condition

2. Will it work for the above configuration, Because Vin-Vout=0.8V

Thanks,

Ramesh M

Part Number: TLV61220

HI TI,

In my project, there is a problem in the test.

VIN=4.0V;I_IN=1.64ma;VOUT=5.33;I_OUT=1.1ma;The load is a 5K RES. Efficiency=90%. i think it's good .

when I_out @ (1~10)ma,the VOUT & Efficiency i think no problem.

when I_out @ 20+ma. the VOUT Being lowered, only 4V.and Inductance has noise.

The following PCB is the layout of the reference documentation and EVM.

the waveform of SW(What should be the frequency under normal conditions?).

CAP(X5R_1206_10uF)

RES(1%_0805)

inductance(4.7uH_30%_1A)

I want to know why this is happening.pls help me~~~

BQ27426: Settings for Low-Power Application

Part Number: BQ27426

Dear Team,

our customer would like to use the BQ27426 in a low-power application. The battery is rated with 120mA and the average current in active state is 1mA, and in stand-by mode <0.01mA. For higher accuracy, the customer chose a scaling factor of 60x (following slua792).

> How does the customer need to set the discharge, charge and quit current thresholds?

Specifically, the customer sees that the Quit Current would be around 2400, whereas the TRM says a max. of 1000.
> What is the impact of having the values wrongly set up?

Thanks and best regards

Part Number: BQ25700A

Hi Team,

I create this thread to follow up  http://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/p/831718/3103453#3103453?jktype=e2e

This is the same project w/ the same settings. In 1st and 2nd build, customers creates both 20pcs to evaluate. They can 1 pcs w/ current ripple in each build.

Already adding more 60uF cap on Vsys or VBAT to avoid PFM mode. However this current ripple is not the similar w/ what we saw.

Kindly help to explain this behavior and provide solutions to resolve

Test Procedure

•Before testing, charging battery until it enters CV mode.
•Let gauge to monitor system information – included voltage and current.
•Plot voltage/current by time as below.

Hi,

I am designing a system requiring 9V 6.5A from a lithium ion battery source. I used webench but having issues on the recommended results. I want it to have 2.7V minimum input but when i opened the datasheet of the controller used, the 2.5V input has a bias condition. As i understood, you will need external supply higher than 2.5V which i dont have. Can you advise solutions?

Thanks,
