BQ27220: BQ27220: Cannot generate GMSF File in bqStudio "Reading the data memory or flash image has failed"

I'm having trouble creating a GMSF file in BqStudio for the BQ27220 (using EVM2400). I'm always getting "Reading the data memory or flash image has failed The golden image files could not be created".
Additional information:
- EVM2400
- bqStudio 1.3.52.1 (also tested with 1.3.86)
- When this happens, the "Progress Information Image Files" window says "Reading data memory: Address 0x9180".
- Maybe related: When go to "Data Memory" > "Read All" > "Write All" (without changing any default value) I get a red error message on the bottom "Value is beyond minimum value defined for parameter.:Calibration.Current.CC Gain"
- I can reproduce this just by starting up, going to Golden Image and then hitting "Create Image Files"
- OTFS files are created without problem

BQ2040: Charging Issue

Hi.
My customer using BQ2040 until now.
They production battery pack using BQ2040 and 3S2P(5600mAH) Samsung battery (2800mAH)
The battery pack using the BQ2040 occasionally has a problem that it can not charging.
This is a symptom that can not charging when they try to charge (especially after discharging).
I attached the schematic, GG file and GUI screen shot.
Please check GG file and data flash setting.
I think data flash setting is strange.
Please let me know some debugging hint.

BQ78350-R1: Turn off the Alarm Broadcasting and the charger mode broadcasting

I would like to turn off the broadcasting of alarm and charger mode. May I know what is the bit position for Alarm Mode? It is written as Bit 13 on the Byte map but Bit 12 in the description. May I know which bit position is correct?

Can I just confirm I am calculating the power requirement for the Sense Resistor correctly.
* System running at 50A 24V DC
* Selected sense resistor 0.0025R
* Voltage drop across sense resistor 0.125V
* Therefore
(I = V / R) = (0.125V / 0.0025R = 50A)
(P = V * I ) = (0.125V * 50A = 6.25W)
So selecting a 10W, 0.0025R sense resistor should be ok for my design?

Page 9 of SLUUBW5 indicates that when a Data Flash Checksum is generated by the chip, CSV is set.
Can the Data Flash Checksum be read - and on what command?

According to the Timing Requirements of BQ27542 datasheet: HDQ Communication diagram (a) , I pulled the HDQ down by 500us, then pulled it up and delayed it by 60us. From the waveform diagram captured by the oscilloscope, I found that this IC is not responding, as shown in waveform (b).
The code I tested here is as shown below:
Could you please help analyse the reason?

We are using the BQ27441EVM-G1A .
By using EV2300 board i am trying to calibrate the my single cell (3.7V/5200mAh) battery.
When i open the Battery Management studio 1.3.54.1 version ...The device is in SEALED mode. LOCK symbol is able to see on IC as shown in image attached here. i tried to UNSEAL with 80008000 command.
But it is switching between SEALED and UNSEALED mode.(LOCK & UNLOCK). Unable to measure even battery parameters. Temperature register is also showing very high ...260 degrees.....
Please help any one. How to calibrate my battery.
BQ40Z80EVM-020: Purpose of circuit around Q4? DSG FET not fully open up.

On the BQ40Z80EVM-020, what is the purpose of the circuit around Q4? And its relation to DSG FET Q3?
I build my own BMS circuit board based on P40Z80, which is mainly a copy of the BQ40Z80EVM-020 reference design. Everything works as expected, except the discharge FET (Q3 on the EVM) doesn't fully open up when commanded. I see a voltage drop of ~8V when pulling ~210mA and the FET is getting hot. Voltage at DSG test point is 16V in that case.
When I slightly touch the Q4 gate or remove Q4 entirely, then the DSG FET Q3 fully opens up, voltage drop is a few mV, output voltage and current as expected. Voltage at DSG test point is 21.6V then.
The BMS design is running from 6S Li-Io at nominal 21.6V. In all test cases the CHG FET is commanded open.

BQ27510: Values of CC Gain and CC Delta

Hi,
I am trying to write CC Gain and CC Offset values for bq27501 fuel gauge IC. As per the data flash summary, CC gain Data Flash to EVSW Conversion is EVSW=4.768/DF
So for example, I want EVSW value=10.021
My DF=4.768/010.021=0.4759
Hence I tried to write the 0.4759 using I2C mode and checked the same in bq evaluation software whether write was successful or not.
The software throws error as "The value you entered is not allowed because it results in code(decimal) 11 Division by zero."
Similar is the issue with the CC Offset. Kindly help if anything related to data types has to be taken care while writing.

BQ40Z50: Cell depleted to 2.1v after 2 days in CUV, is the device sinking current?

Changed chemID and discharged the pack till CUV protection activated in Friday, load was removed. In Monday there was a cell depleted to 2.1v.
CUV SUV set to 2.9 and 2.5. Screenshot was captured in Monday. There were discharged current applied to all 3 cells after CUV was enabled.
It seems the cell was depleted because bq40z50 was sinking current from cells. Shutdown voltage was in default 1.75v.
PS shutdown voltage = 2.5, PWR_SAVE_VSHUT is not enabled.
Is this issue caused by the quiescent current from bq40z50? Will set PWR_SAVE_VSHUT =1 and increase shutdown volatage = 2.6 helps?

BQ40Z50: CHGFET or DSGFET doesn't turn ON/OFF when triggered from BQStudio

Hi,
I'm here to ask about FET control on hardware. Why DSGFET or CHGFET doesn't turn ON/OFF while triggered from BQStudio ? When i toggled ON CHGFET, XCHG register shows green and CHG red. I measured on Vgate, the voltage is 12.38Volts. When i toggled OFF CHGFET, XCHG register shows red and CHG is green, but the voltage doesn't go down to near 0V. I measured it at 12.20 Volts. And it happened same on DSGFET. What is wrong with my design ? Because of grounding or something else ?

BQ34Z100-G1: BQ34Z100-G1. FCC Changes

Hi,
I am using a BQ34z100-g1 with an 8s2p LiFePO4 batteries. The nominal capacity of the battery is 6400mAh.
I have obtained the golden image of the battery and load it in the bq24z100-g1. I have tested the bq34z100-g1 performance during two weeks in a laboratory functional prototype.
I was surprised to see the changes in FCC have been bigger than expected. Here I have a record of the evolution of different parameters.
First column is date of each record.
Second column is SoC of the battery
Third column is voltage battery at the moment of the record.
Fourth column is current battery at the moment of the record.
Fifth column is nominal capacity of the battery.
Sixth column is FCC of the battery.
Seventh column is max error in SoC stimate.
The temperature of the battery has been always between 20 and 27ºC.
As it can be seen, FCC values can vary in more than 5% (6458mAh on 13/7/2018 and 6081mAh on 24/07/2018) in only 2 weeks.
What can be those high variations due to?
BQ40Z50-R2: Current measurements issue even after calibration

We have strange issue with bq40z50-R2 BMS IC current measurement (Rsense=2mOhm).
Problem description:
1) Calibrated (through Battery management studio GUI) BMS shows current values with ~15% error after cell pack is disconnected and connected again, or if we copy *.srec and *.gg files from calibrated board to other (with same component values) prototype board and use same cell pack as in board #1.
2) If we calibrate BMS again, then current measurment accuracy is less than 1%, until we do p.1)
What could be the reason of such behavior?
